I do wonder if this was something on their radar and they just used the law as the impetus to revoke it. On the one hand, I’m not a huge fan of corporations getting to make their own laws and, in this case, basically run their own municipality. On the other, politicians punishing businesses for simply disagreeing with them on a law is some chilling, totalitarian level shit.
The one effect this likely will have is to put a damper on “free speech” since it’s now apparent the government is free to punish you for your words and your beliefs.
The crazy keeps getting ramped higher and higher. It’s always interesting how social conservatism gets rapped up into economic conservatism so communism means race mixing or not being biblical with your gender norms. Everything is communism (or socialism )
Someone needs to get it in their ear that the real way to fight Disney and the liberal elite Hollywood groomers is to take away their absurd copyright extensions.
Disney can fuck off. They’ve written huge checks to GOP politicians forever, getting sweetheart deals in return. They only fought this time because their employees revolted, they had zero problem with the legislation when it passed. Fuck ‘em.
