I was just thinking that renewables and natural gas are going to be the long term solution for the electric grid. Mostly because those are the only plants still being built, but also because it’s easy to adjust gas plant output to cover dips n renewable production. It’s too bad that gas is only marginally more carbon efficient than coal, but them’s the breaks.
The electric heat that Florida uses used to suck carbon wise, but with Florida Man in Chief and the grid using more renewables, it might be time to install gas lines.

The gas thing absolutely is partly about the environment. Lots of jurisdictions outside of the US are banning new gas homes.
The path is mass electrification plus renewables.
Gas plays a role in generation, but we shouldnt be burning it in homes.
The extra value is heat pumps are really fucking efficient.

Apparently someone didn’t get the memo. Gas is Green Energy (according to the American Legislative Exchange Council). 15-25 states will probably pass this legislation in the next few years.

The use of natural gas is about the environment, but this latest thing about them coming for your gas stoves and all this shit was due to the study about the health effects
Cooking is bad for your health even on an electric stove. Probably best to invest in better ventilation before ditching gas.
