I know it doesn’t really matter but I don’t even understand what the reason for impeaching Biden will be?

Are they literally going to be drafting articles of impeachment for being a dem?

Just guessing, but something to do with Afghanistan maybe?

The Coward Of Afghanistan will be impeached for Treason.

The reason will be “Because fuck you, that’s why”. Luckily since Ds control the Senate they can just snap dismiss and skip the time wasting trial.

Whaddabout being a Radical Socialist? That’s gotta be impeachable.

I have no idea. They have to at least make something up. What will it be?

An impeachable offense is literally whatever Congress says it is. Any insane Fox News nonsense could be sufficient grounds for impeaching him.

They will hold Hunter Biden hearings, decide that he’s been using his powers to protect his son from prosecution, and use that as the justification for impeachment. They will claim that his employer vaccine mandate was authoritarian overreach. The FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago. And, of course, Afhghanistan.

Related, a big point of contention in the GOP primary is going to be that Trump massively overreacted to COVID and put too many restrictions on US society.

And pro vaccine

Absolutely

None of those are impeachable offences. I am asking what are the articles of impeachment going to say?

Maybe I am wrong but I don’t think this is true.

Nah, it’s pure Calvinball that’s held together by norms. There’s nothing to stop Congress from acting in bad faith and impeaching a president for jaywalking.

They are impeachable offenses if enough members of Congress say they are. There’s no strict definition of what is impeachable–yes, the Constitution says “Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors”, but Congress gets to decide what constitutes “high crimes and misdemeanors”–so, you’re relying on Republicans obeying all norms and common sense if you want to believe there won’t be impeachment.

The bottom line is that impeachment is a political process, not a judicial process. It is a battle that will be fought along political lines rather than legal ones.
