For some reason, I often end up googling some of the āmain charactersā in these types of stories just to see a little bit more about them. I normally donāt post about it because Iām not trying to doxx someone or seem overly creepy, but this guy put himself into the public eye and so Iāll mention two things.
Apparently, Gordon Lawshe was a councilmember for this town and only resigned once he was offered and accepted the role of director of the Caldwell Community Center. Interesting timing too, this article is from the month after he resigned and it is about three police filing a complaint against him because Lawshe complained that some sergeants werenāt issuing enough tickets.
Itās not even for the money a lot of the time, itās a pure power play over some of the most vulnerable people in our society. Itās fucking heinous.

You have to remember that W went from being the president with the highest approval ratings in history to being a persona non grata within the party. Itās not too crazy to imagine the party putting Trumpism into the memory hole and rallying around the new guy.

Comparing bush to trump seems like a bad take. So many people have made Trump a core part of their identity in a way that has never happened before and certainly didnāt happen with bush. I have no idea how trump vs. desantis plays out but Iām not counting trump out yet.

Thereās a guy at the gym who wears a Trump shirt fairly often. It will be interesting to see if he retires that.
