Golf: No Bones, just Bonesaws

This is actually how you shoot those rounds. Had my first golf coach tell me this, that I was focused too much on playing the entire hole rather than 1 shot at a time, and it didn’t make sense at all til I shot a few low rounds (for me) and looked at what I did differently. All of them I was not worried about the previous shot at all, I just had 1 thing to do. Sometimes shots require thinking a little ahead, like oh I’m gonna lay up here and leave 70 yard wedge in, but still, each shot is its own and you shouldn’t be thinking about anything else other than executing that single shot. If you don’t do it, then you just tackle the next one.

So much easier said than done. My approach is to focus on the single shot, hit it poorly, and reflect at length on how my entire round (and perhaps my golf career) has been ruined.

I got to a degree of confidence with my wedges, which I’ve had a weird ability with since almost day 1, where if I end up in a lot of trouble it’s kind of a fun challenge because lots of wedge shots were becoming trivial. i think because of this it’s a lot easier for me to hit a bad shot and not care at all.

i wish i was as good at putting though, which funnily is how i got my wedges this way, since i’m unable to make a putt outside 10 feet i always just try to stick it close, lol

This is truly one of the best reasons to drink on the course. When sober I can hit 4 good shots to one bad one and my mind just dwells on the bad one. After enough beers I am hitting 4 bad shots to one good one and my mind is only thinking about the good one.

I am the complete opposite and stopped drinking on the course in the first year, sometimes if everyone was getting hammered and i felt like too much of a try hard I’d sip one for appearances

Far from attracting a lucrative broadcast rights media deal, it appears that LIV golf will be actually paying FOX Sports to broadcasts its tournaments.

Yes but then they can sell advertising. I have a feeling it’s going to be lots of Saudi tourism ads, maybe a few Russian propaganda ads mixed in.

Plus MyPillow.

I got a hearty chuckle at the thought of the mighty LIV Golf’s programming being on the same level as the Pokerstars Big Game.

he got paid more than he did in his entire golf career just this year if you count the signing bonus

Still think Pat Perez is the real winner since he gets to be on 4 aces and get all that team $$$ while getting carried to victory by his coke buddies

Does DJ get 30m on top of the bonus, or is the 30m offset?

the 30M is just what he’s won from the LIV golf events so far

one of the most shockingly disrespectful things I have ever seen or heard on a golf course was on a par 54 pitch n putt average hole like 105 yards a guy hit it to 25 feet from bout that distance out and loudly screamed “MAKE THIS GAME HARDER!”

pretty sure he got nothing less than a double after that.

That seems more hilarious than disrespectful. Like every time he putts in for triple after that I’d be dropping comments like “it’s just too easy for you bro! How do you do it?”

This ^^^^^.

I’d wait for him to hit one way off line/short/long and be like, “Man if I were you I’d talk to your ball and tell it to go/get down/cut/draw because when you asked the golf gods to make the game harder for you they definitely listened!”

I just thought it was funny because if I hit 100 yard wedge to 25 feet I’m probably going to curse at myself for missing wide lol

Lol, dude thought he was Kevin Kisner and quickly got humbled.

If I hit my 100 yards wedge to 25 ft I’d be like ah sweet I’m putting for double bogey

I once drove the green on a par 4 to 6 feet. Walking off the green my Dad said, “Nice par!”

I also once holed out from 148 yards behind a tree uphill to a tucked pin on a par-4 for par.
