Going off the voting, I think there a some voters who have only had store bought pies and don’t know the pleasures of home-made pies made with fresh fruit.
Pumpkin is one of my faves and I don’t know anyone who makes that with fresh fruit.
Pie is kind of like pizza (well, I guess pizza is technically pie, but forget about that). Even replacement level grocery store pizza is still pretty good.
Mississippi Mud Pie is the winner. Never even heard of it until I moved to the South 10 years ago. And I’m not even a huge chocolate fan. I imagine it’s like a southerner thinking Pizza Hut is good pizza and then visiting NYC on vacation and having real pizza.
