Agreed. We had sour cherry trees in the backyard of the house I grew up in. Dad would pick and pit the cherries and Mom would make the dough. I’m convinced that nothing in this competition would beat that specific pie.

I used to live in New England and there were tons of sour cherry trees in the yard of our apartment building. Mme Melkerson seemed to be the only one interested in them. Made tons of pies/cobblers/crumbles.
