Glenn Greenwald and Friends: Fearless Adversarial Fox News Contributors

I feel like the Snowden story might have went to his head!

Glad Greenwald canā€™t stand partisan stripe. Maybe one day he will stop creating it!

No man, youā€™ve got it all wrong.

Unlike the Intercept, I donā€™t think of myself as a soldier fighting for an ideological faction or political party ā€“ instead, Iā€™m an independent journalist ā€“ so this label debate is irrelevant. But to the extent they want to have it, itā€™s The Intercept that has moved to the authoritarian right.

Clearly not bitter about being ousted from The Intercept.

Sometimes, Iā€™m not sure if heā€™s completely delusional or LARPing as Super-Journalistā„¢.

Holy fuck sticks. Glenn taking his idiocy to new heights.

Glenn is claiming anyone who believes people should still wear masks is saying ā€œThe Vaccine does not workā€.

I donā€™t know if it is intellectual dishonesty or abject stupidity, or a combo platter.

He seems to be a puppet for hire.

He should probably look for a job writing for industry trade magazines.

Why do that when a bunch of libertarian free thinkers will sub to your substack?

I wonder if this is the way he always was though. A lot of his takes even before this appeared to be selected to be adversarial to the mainstream media. When he was writing about protecting privacy, that was opposed to both sides of the MSM. When he was writing pro-Palestine articles, that was opposed to both sides. When the prevailing view of the MSM was that Russia colluded with Trump, he took the opposite.

The difference in that last one was that FOX News agreed with him. Since he was associated with the left, they could present him as a liberal who hates liberals. Glenn liked that angle and likely the money he was being offered.

The irony of Glenn is that heā€™s really not that much different from MSM figures he claims to be fighting against. Most of them are nothing more than opportunists looking for a niche that can secure their job and a larger salary. Glenn bounced around a couple of niches in order to keep himself relevant and appears to have found another. No matter how hard he tries to position himself as the mediaā€™s adversary, he is exactly like them and that should not be forgotten.

Itā€™s PPV?

:joy::joy::joy::crazy_face::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes::face_with_raised_eyebrow::thinking::sunglasses::joy::joy::joy:

Right on the bottom center of the poster. May 29th live on PPV.

Unfortunately in this day and age anything can be monetized fairly efficiently. Itā€™s probably not terribly expensive for them to do so even with a relatively small audience.

Yes Fox News is identical to Democracy Now if Democracy Now controlled a political party that will shortly control 2 out of the 3 branches in the Federal Government and over half of the state governments

@goofyballer et al I havenā€™t listened to Chapo in a little while; have they alluded to Greenwald and Taibbi at all, even in passing?

Taibbi ā€œbecoming a right-wingerā€ is a thoroughly dumbass take that kind of justifies what Taibbi is saying, i.e. that you canā€™t disagree with any liberal orthodoxy without being branded a right-wing sympathiser. That tweet about Fox was bad but the piece isnā€™t that bad and I think heā€™s right about a lot of it. The weird thing to me is treating this ā€œepistemic closureā€ and groupthink in the media like itā€™s anything new when youā€™re someone who lived through the media environment of the Iraq War, where the same thing happened and it was way more consequential. Like yeah, the US media sucks, always has done. People get groupthink, always have done. Youā€™re never going to change that by screaming about it, you just have to ignore it and hope the fever breaks.

It seems like the motive to write about this stuff is basically narcissistic, like probably heā€™s gotten ostracized due to heterodox opinions or something, and therefore this is the most important thing in the world. I donā€™t think heā€™s gone full Greenwald but I hope he comes to his senses, stops writing about this meta shit and just writes what he thinks about actual things happening in the world.

No.

He has to be doing the sickest prop bet in the history of history no?
He canā€™t be this big of an oblivious clown naturally.

Glenn Greenwald stands for standing.

Maybe this isnā€™t limited to Glenn but itā€™s really the first time Iā€™ve noticed it so clearly: somehow the more Big Mad he gets the more he phones it in. Itā€™s like on some subconscious level he immediately understands the criticism is valid and/or from a valid source but his reaction is ironically to get more frothy and screech harder.

So in Taibbi-land - are OANN and Newsmax more pro-common man than Fox, or less?

Hit dog gonna holler.
