He leaked them. Not sure about who took them because I haven’t looked at them and don’t plan to. My assumption though is that he took them as part of their sex life and then decided to use them to ruin her political career because they are getting a divorce and he’s an abusive asshole.
If he leaked them can’t he be arrested under the revenge porn law?
Which makes me wonder if he took them - because then obviously it implicates him.
Abusive assholes frequently do stuff that’s not legal. People aren’t all that attached to reality. He’s going to experience some major consequences though. Of that I promise you.

Anyways, this feels like a smokescreen. It’s probably an inappropriate relationship, but not necessarily one that is the problem as she was only campaign staff. More concerning is her alleged relationship with someone on her legislative staff, which was in violation of House ethics rules. My suspicion is that the latter relationship, which she denies, was the one which caused her to resign because she didn’t want the ethics committee digging into the matter with her impending divorce and she is playing the victim card over her other relationship to distract from that.
We had one guy show up to the office today because his power was out. Another brought his whole family in over the weekend because the internet didn’t come back on after the power was restored. Climate change directly affecting people’s lives.
The laws on revenge porn are pretty weak; it may have been totally legal for him to distribute the photos, esp if he’s the one who took them.

Playing the victim card? They’ve already released photos of her and have promised to release more. She doesn’t want a steady drip drip drip of released photos and videos over her entire career.
She may be lampshading one inappropriate relationship, where she is being unfairly criticized, to take away attention from another that may be significantly more inappropriate and worthy of attention and also one that may have a more significant impact on divorce proceedings.

The only thing that concerns me there is the iron cross tattoo. But I guess there could be other explanations for that?

I’m sure the ADL know their business, but I wouldn’t have thought “outlaw bikers” would be terribly deserving of charity regarding their Iron Cross regalia. Though Sid Vicious used to wear a swastika t-shirt and wrote a song called Belsen Was A Gas, so I take the general point.
I feel like even the non-Nazi uses of the Iron Cross always wind being bikers or other dumb white trash shit. Basically it’s on you if you get an Iron Cross tat and everyone thinks you’re a Neo-Nazi.
If the Iron Cross tattoo is real, then fuck her. Where she grew up (not that far from where I am and not that far from parts of the San Fernando and Antelope Vally where there are plenty of white supremacist/skinhead types) the Iron Cross means some kind of white pride thing or at least she knew it would be taken as such. It may not mean you’re part of a specific hate group, but it’s close enough.
One of her policy positions is greater funding for border security for fuck sake! Right now, today, she’s a God damned white supremacist.

Having sex with people who work for you is a terrible idea for obvious reasons. Having group sex with people who work for you who are obviously emotionally vulnerable is an even more terrible idea.
It sucks that the pictures came out and the husband may well be a terrible guy, but she has made several horrible choices and I’m not shedding tears here. The grenades about ABUSIVE HUSBAND seem like a smoke screen to hide her undisputedly bad behavior.

Yeah obviously she sucks too. 700 nudes is a lot of nudes. It also sucks to fuck a campaign staffer. It sucks even harder (and it’s important to note that it’s also stupider) to take pictures.
I’m not excusing her, I just don’t want her to give up her seat. We won it fair and square and I’d prefer that she eat her shame at least until she decides not to run again for 2020.
