Hey not my fault, I just designed a system that was guaranteed to fail - probably because my manager refused to alter the schedule to do it right. It’s the employee’s fault. Fire 'em and move on.

I used to be a casual, low rent audiophile, but I haven’t had good speakers (or any other stereo equipment) for about a decade for various life reasons. Today I had a pair of Audioengine powered speakers delivered and have been listening to music all evening.
1) These things totally live up to the hype. They sound fucking amazing for the price.
2) I had forgotten how enjoyable it is to listen to music on good equipment.

My hearing isn’t great anymore and I hadn’t listened on anything better than my computer speakers or cheap earbuds in a long time. I kept my 20 yo Sony receiver (hadn’t even been plugged in in 10 years) and Infinity speakers from my storage room debacle and got a bluetooth adapter. I mean altogether it’s not going to meet any audiophile standard but goddamn it sounds pretty good to me.
That is a really useful poll for when clueless people are like “hurrr polls show that people want compromise and moderation”. What people want is for others to fall in line with their own beliefs. When they say that want politicians to “find common ground” that’s what they’re talking about; the common ground they regard as sensible and obvious is simply what they themselves believe to be true.
