Working from home because of fire is like a snow day for adults. Unless you’re in the fire of course, then it’s much less fun. Also there’s no sledding and hot cocoa with tiny marshmallows waiting for you when you’re done.
I assume she’s resigning because leadership made her or because there’s worse stuff going to come out, but you wouldn’t expect that to be her own explanation.

So was this stuff like 3-somes with the staffer and ex-husband? If not is it just pics with her and the staffer that the GOP somehow got a hold of? Seems weird for two women to take lots of incriminating pics of each other.
They’ve got 700 revenge porn pics of her according to some GOP source. There’s a very decent chance it’s just her wanting to go hide for a while.
I’m sorry but the only person in this situation with actual complaints is the husband. I’ll happily admit you shouldn’t sleep with your subordinates, but it seems like it was all consensual and nobody came forward to complain. This isn’t like some lawmaker who has settled half a dozen sexual harassment suits (of which there are several still in office I’m pretty sure). This is a woman going through a messy divorce that she claims is from an abusive man. That man is busily proving her right by leaking her nudes to her political enemies.
This is why I don’t take pictures to memorialize my sex life though guys. I’ve never done that, and I never will. One because I’m fucking ugly (IMO) but two because the risk is nowhere near worth the reward. Seriously best case you get to jerk off to the pics a few years later, but worst case they ruin your whole life. I don’t get the appeal and I never have.

I don’t think there’s really much rational appeal, it’s more of a power play. Requiring / allowing the pictures is part of a dominant / submissive structure, which is very common in sexual relationships.
Yeah I’m well aware of the dynamics and I’m in such a relationship as the more dominant partner… and I genuinely still don’t get it. The risk literally makes the whole thing deeply unsexy for me. And it’s absolutely two way risk too.
The chances that her husband ends up getting smashed absolutely flat by law enforcement (this is illegal in CA and the state is run by Democrats… if you think there isn’t going to be brutal payback for this you’re sadly mistaken) and have most of his personal relationships from now on severely impacted (what kind of woman would now willingly have anything to do with this dude after how he’s handling this divorce???).
Nudes just have almost no upside for anyone and the whole idea of creating that kind of risk… yikes. So bothered by it on a visceral level.
Or you could just date an ex-porn star then nothing fucking matters.
I mean yeah… but most women don’t want to get to a point where nothing matters. And neither do I honestly.
Actually once you hit 50 nothing really matters anyway.
