I assume they’re going for kilowatt-hours?
This is why no one likes nerds.
I’m tempted to fix it with a sharpie.
Anyone here use Robinhood? My friend invited me to it, and you get a free share of a random stock for signing up (and whoever referred you gets a free share). They’re mostly cheap ones ($4-5) but you have like a 1 in 150 shot at Apple, Facebook, Berkshire Hathaway, etc, so you could get lucky and hit for a couple hundo. No deposit required, you can skip all the banking info and still get it.
Obviously I’m giving you all my referral link because I like free stocks: Choose from a range of leading companies. Limitations apply.
But I do think it’s a pretty cool offer, and it’s an app-based trading platform with no fees from what I can tell. Looks like you can get up to $500 a year off the offer, so obviously my goal is to get $500 in the next month and $500 early next year, and then revisit the offer if it’s still around in 2021. Seems like a decent enough chunk of free money from our corporate overlords to take a run at it…
Just figured out how they make money… If you want to move your stock off their brokerage later, it’s a $75 fee… They also charge for trades executed over the phone and they make money off a margin lending service. And of course for interest on money sitting idly in accounts. Still seems worth it for the free stocks, though.
They also have a cash management thing in the works that would pay 1.8% APY, which seems reasonable. Anyone know if that’s good? I’ve been considering putting some of my money into a CD ladder or something because I have too much just sitting around doing nothing for me.
Maybe all this belongs in a personal finance thread of some sort.
Maher is a culture warrior so he thinks Dems should triangulate on those issues? Not sure he thinks Dems should triangulate on health care and minimum wage.
voting and sex change rights for convicts… with the added stigma of one of those convicts being the marathon bomber.
It’s absurd on its face
but you guys will be sure to parse the nuance on how it’s morally the right thing to do for a constituency of 400, while it repulses millions.
America has more people per capita in prison than every other country with possibly a couple exceptions. Those MILLIONS of people should be able to vote. It makes more sense to require them to vote than to prohibit it.
I’m not gonna get down into the muck of minutia, the optics are concentrated Aids extract, and a real contributor to why we can’t beat the biggest imbecile in the history of heads of state.
Shit., the Dem party probably couldn’t even distance ourselves from these type albatrosses if we tried.
I don’t have a strong opinion on it but it’s a toxic issue from a political point of view - polls show huge majorities (70-75%) are against the idea, including a solid majority of Democrats (61% in one poll I saw) and it seems like a weird hill to die on when not even ex-felons have the vote many places and the larger problem is that America incarcerates way too many people.
Also, maybe a quick summary of Maher’s arguments? Chance of me watching a Maher yootoobz is 0.000%.
I’ve been to a couple Bernie rallies and he didn’t say a word about the Boston Bomber. If the Daily Wire runs that headline because Bernie talks about enfranchisement? Well, Ben Shapiro’s listeners will go apeshit. That’s unavoidable.
Who is dying on this hill?
What Bernie does is what’s right. He doesn’t answer the bullshit questions and gets it back to M4A and 15 bucks an hour.
yeah, u guys all have such discriminating taste in media consumption. Gonna have to hold your nose.
It’s literally like high school, and I’ve resisted joining the clique.
Micro and daughter are, no doubt, penning some groundbreaking opinion piece on why convicts should vote and have their dicks inverted at taxpayers expense
Most of the country will go apeshit. In a poll I saw, opposition to allowing felons to vote rises to 89% when respondents are asked about felons convicted of terrorism-related offences in particular. That is a winning line of negative campaigning. I actually think it will be an issue for Bernie in the general, if he makes it that far. The attack ads write themselves.
Neither I nor my daughter are really big culture warriors on the social justice warrior snowflake oberlin side and it’s not something I post much about. It’s mostly reality TV level politics. But I’m sure as shit not a reactionary asshole about it.
It’s mostly that I hate watching yootoobz and when I hit play on that one he was dribbling on about Trump or something and I’m not going to sit and see how long it takes to get to the point. The fact that he’s a smug prick of the Piers Morgan variety is icing on the turd.
yeah, you need to be grabbed in a manner uniquely yours by the orator in order to suffer an additional 10 seconds of your time
far out
