Another interesting thing today - my wife got pulled over for having a dirty license plate. The cop’s theory was that the plate was sanded down so that cameras couldn’t read it, but turned out it was just very dirty.
That cop has never seen a plate sanded down before but sure that’s gotta be it.

So my 10-year old starting having sharp lower abdominal pains this afternoon. After he sat on the toilet with no production and rested in bed for a while, my wife and I took him to urgent care because he was in an unusual amount of pain. I thought there was a chance it was constipation, but he’s had that before and the symptoms weren’t as bad as today. He was so bad I had to carry him. He was in pretty much constant pain.
Urgent care sent us to the Children’s Hospital ER because they didn’t have the proper imaging equipment.
Doctor thought it could be constipation, too, but after sticking her finger up there, she didn’t think it was. Was on the wrong side for appendicitis, but it was still a possibility. Pancreatitis? Kidney stones? They gave him an IV, took blood, gave fluids, etc. Took him for an x-ray.
Turned out, it was constipation. But it was like HYPER MEGA EXTREME constipation. He had weeks of shit backed up way up there.
The solution was an enema. When the nurse explained the procedure and what it was going to do, my son said, “So…it’s like DIY diarrhea.”
Then, when the moment finally arrived where he got to (HAD TO) sit on the toilet, it was hell. His guts came pouring out. He was shocked at first, telling me it felt like he was peeing out of his butt. Each wave also hurt like crazy.
At one point, he looked in the toilet and described it to me:
“It looks like gross juice with a toy inside and the toy is poop.”
He’s feeling much better now. Unfortunately, he also has to take 12 days-worth of Miralax in 24 hours.
I hope everybody is fine (including that poor toilet).

I used to get plugged up pretty bad as a kid. I once went 2 weeks w/o taking a shit.
2 weeks? Holy shit (pun not intended). I remember doing a week once when I was young when my camp had an issue with “splash back” and waited until a got to a normal toilet. 2 weeks though, damn.
Once my kid unleashed the devil, he felt a ton better. He’s not 100%, but he’s solid (no pun intended). He was starving afterward and was jonesing for McDonald’s, so we obliged. He’s sleeping well right now. I’m interested to see how the megadose of Miralax treats him in the next day or two. As miserable as he was, he had a good sense of humor about the entire ordeal.
The nurse almost died at his “DIY diarrhea” quip. She said she’s going to use that from now on.

After Tianenmen there was a mass outrage and a feeling that the West was going to at least do something. And then nothing happened.
In a sense I kind of understand it. It’s just like when the US pulls all this BS and every other country is shrug emoji. What are they gonna do - sanction themselves from dealing with us?
