AC Trop pink game GOAT

Lol shit I forgot about that game haha. Only played a few times.

People used to always say to me, ‘I can’t play low LHE, you can’t get anyone to fold’. To people I trusted, I would say you don’t want them to fold you want them to call. I wanted as many people in the pot as possible with my style.

Played in a 10-20 mixed game at the Borgata a couple of weeks ago that had some of the biggest killers in the room playing small for the benefit of one particular player whom I never saw before. Only played one round of O8 and managed to scoop a pot with the nut low and nut flush then immediately got up when my LHE game was called. They half-heartedly accused me of hit-and-running. Jokes on them tho as I proceeded to lose 2 buy-ins to some of the worst players in the room. Good times

I feel very fortunate that I have an NTB (formerly a Goodyear) within walking distance from my house and in the same shopping center as a Publix. I can drop my car off if I’m not bothering to price shop (they are pretty reasonable, overall) and grab a few groceries or walk home if it’s going to take a while.

The former Goodyear franchise was refreshingly honest. Took my wife’s old car in when it was on its last legs and the dude couldn’t figure out what was wrong. He called me to say there were other things he could investigate, but he didn’t want me to spend more more. He even said he might know someone who would buy the car from us (ended up selling it elsewhere).

Yea same. Most limit pots in 4/8 were bigger than 1/2NL at the Trop. They would routinely be over $200. Like, you’d 3 bet the turn to $24 and 5 would call lol. It was insane.

At this Omaha Hi game, I one time saw something like a $400 pot (watching not in the hand). In the hand it went 2/3/4 bet before the flop with at least 5 or 6 callers. Then on the flop, it went cap between the two raisers (I think with a 3 str8 2 flush board). Everyone called. On the turn, it went to three way capped with a flush and str8 on board. I think it was just a bet/call/raise/bet/call/call down on the river (some old lady getting whip sawed the whole hand). The two cappers had top pair, the person caught in the middle had the ignorant end of a straight on the flush board that she had flopped (I feel like the board was 89T or 9TJ on the flop or something, but obviously can’t remember for sure).

That was the kind of game this was when it got wild. Most pots preflop were limped, and if you raised, it got 4 bet with everyone staying in. Almost the whole table would play to the river, and then everyone would fold after a bet and one or two calls. I would buy in with 100, which is insane for 4/8, but most days I didn’t need to rebuy.

It reminded me of tournament series at Commerce in like 2006 era. You would routinely see crazy plays between multiple players and the winners would have ace high.

That’s me at these $150 tourneys I’ve been playing. I keep thinking I need to balance my range and raise with Axs every now and then, and all I do is spew chips in the process.

If I don’t do that and just raise premium I still get 5 callers. They literally don’t notice that I haven’t played a hand for 2 hours.

If you’re going to bluff post you have to be willing to commit all your chips. And it still ends badly most of the time.

It would be awesome if you both tanked 1 minute between raises.

Lol no it was like raise raise raise raise until he was all in. I knew I had the nuts. He was convinced he did as well.

I got in a bad situation at some Caesars event a long time ago where this guy who thought he was the most awesome observant player ever made an absolutely boneheaded set of plays against me when I hadn’t played a hand in like an hour and a half. I actually folded face up on the flop (almost never do this) when he went all in or raised me or something because I was so confused by his play. He showed his hand too. He was like, you bluff a lot I knew I had you.

Narrator: He didn’t have me.

No one seems to pay attention to anything, anywhere, at any time.

Ok Boomer, your political instincts of appeasing racist derpers and seeking grand bargains with austerity Koch brother nihilists for your entire Presidency contributed more to the election of stable genius than any other Democratic politician, yes including the obvious one.

Being perfectly frank, the reason I consider socialism to be the solution is that capitalism is going to kill off the species and must be dismantled, and socialism is just sitting there, really. Show me another alternative to capitalism and I’ll cheerfully consider it. If someone wants to tell me “Socialism doesn’t work”, I’m really not inclined to argue. Maybe it doesn’t.

But have a look around and ask yourself “Does capitalism?” Even ignoring all of the obvious inequities and injustices, the issue of climate is enough, by itself, to understand that radical change is necessary. If we’re choosing between exactly two broken systems, I’m going with the one that offers some chance of not reducing human civilisation to a guttering flame, then a smouldering wick, then nothing at all, ever again.
