Twitter won’t autoban neo-Nazis because the filters may ban GOP politicians
Motherboard releases report on what (and who) the algorithmic content filters would ban.
How much is too much
Sounds like it was his wifes crazy EX and he was there with a bat fucking shit up throwing rocks through his windows etc.
I guess this could go into the epstein thread, feel free to move it if you think so.
The Epstein stuff is mainstream, even my non political friends post about it on FB. I think this will hurt the media’s anti-trump credibility a decent amount with low info voters and feed more into the fake news nonsense.
Seriously how do we fix the media? If it’s going to be a for profit corporate thing than the only way would be to fix the population and that isn’t happening.
Obviously government controlled media would be a horrible idea.
Even the fair doctrine or whatever won’t matter because people will just have stooges on like they already do, there just to get crushed for their viewers.
WAAF
I’m not sure this is a self evident as you suggest. Which is a better news source, Fox News or the BBC? Which is a better news source, CNN or PBS news?
I think there are degrees of public control of news media that are not as insidious as “government controlled media” which immediately brings to mind North Korea or Trump style misinformation. But government news can also be a good thing.
I mean sure but I think we need to educate our population first. It might be viable in 15 years or so, but as long as we have 40% of the population that through gerrymandering/voter suppression and all the other ways of rigging, badly want a fascist authoritarian running things that they will let get away with literally anything it’s super dangerous.
I dunno, I’m not educated on how the BBC works. But I think Trump would break all the rules and have it working for him.
Hell, all you need to do is have a good FCC. GOPlaughing.gif
Yea this. Until people go to prison, there will always be rampant corruption. And it can’t be something like a fine because a billionaire laughs at a $250K fine.
Look at this whistleblower stuff. You have Senators openly trying to out the whistleblower. They should be in prison for that. Instead, they don’t give a shit b/c they know they won’t be held accountable.

The meme come to life. I wish I had a dog. :(
Digging these ads at the bottom of the page. Reminded me I wanted to see 1.
This explains pretty much everything.

Also lol
According to two people close to Trump, he also “repeatedly griped to associates about how his predecessor, President Obama, has had more Twitter followers than he has, even though — by Trump’s own assessment — he is so much better at Twitter than Obama is.”
It’s called a convex mirror and it’s already been invented?
A 14-year-old from West Grove, Pennsylvania, won a $25,000 prize for creating a prototype designed to eliminate a car's blind spots.
Iirc Trump had something like a million followers before running for President
If Twitter ever decides to start aggressively cracking down on bots he’ll have less than half of his current total
The ranked-choice voting issue is actually pretty weird and not well understood. Local pundits used Florida in 2000 as an example of how it would work - pointing out that if Nader voters got a second choice it would have put Gore in the White House. Problem is that is not how the NYC ballot issue is written - if nobody gets a majority, they look at the 2nd choice of the last place candidate. Therefore, before Nader votes would have been looked at, they would have unpacked Pat Buchanan votes, those after Lyndon Larouche, the Constitution party and whatever nutters were on the ballot. I’m guessing Bush would have been the beneficiary but who knows.
I voted for the issue, but I have to admit that it is not clear what the impact on elections will be or even if the new system can be gamed. May end up regretting it idk.

Nader had 2.5x the number of votes than everyone combined (excluding Bush and Gore of course).
This is another good episode from Ezra Klein’s podcast, even though it’s pretty depressing. It’s about how climate change is affecting the oceans and that it is really the most alarming aspect of climate change, yet virtually no one is talking about it. The Gray Area with Sean Illing: The climate crisis is an oceans crisis on Apple Podcasts
It really puts things into perspective just how fucked we are. And for me it makes all the other stupid political shit we get wrapped up in seem so trivial.
