Though Virginia requires that applicants specify their race when applying for a marriage license, the state leaves it up to individual counties to draw up their own lists of choices.
Mr. Churchill and Ms. Rogers said they were taken aback by the long list that Rockbridge county officials gave them. Many of the choices were nationalities, like Korean, German or Honduran. And some were obscure, outdated classifications like Quadroon and Octoroon that refer to the fraction of African ancestry in people of mixed race — a common basis for discrimination in previous eras.

Being a racist seems mentally exhausting because there’s so much completely pointless bullshit to keep track of. An Octoroon is a person who is 1/8th Black, which means you have to know the races of a person’s grandparents to fully be racist against them.

Ageism lol. If Boomers wanted to be treated well they would offer to work for the same pay as millenials/Gen X’ers (hint: they are often waaaay more expensive) and have kept up with technology to the point where I didn’t have to help them setup basic office peripherals or an email account.
All this whining about ageism is workers who aren’t as productive as me complaining that they aren’t being paid more than me. It’s literally mind boggling. Combine that with their low fertility rate (which means they don’t have kids to take care of them in their old age), low personal savings rate (which means they expect us, the younger generation to pay for their retirement), and their generally terrible political choices (which means we have enormous infrastructure/educational debts to pay off just to get to parity with them), and you have the worst generation in American history. Some of them are individually fine, but in a macro context they are fucking locusts.
I’m basically against any policy idea that helps them out at this point and I’m pretty pro socialism. They’ve gotta experience consequences for their choices or this country is really truly fucked.
I don’t see why we can’t call them Boomers too, it’s how they refer to each other.
