Fall LC thread

Reading an article that an 13 year old invented a new hyperloop really makes me ashamed how I wasted my youth. And that was just 2nd place finisher. First place was a kid that invented a liquid bandage to reduce the risk of superbug infections.

Quite.

Like the opening titles of Taxi Driver, to name but one.

I’m not even sure the Matrix is undisputedly the movie with the best pairing of music and cinema in its closing scene of movies released in 1999.

Read whole twitter thread on Nancy positions, it is gross.

Also a significant number of replies agree with Nancy. It is disturbing.

Nonsense. Hitchens was for the Iraq invasion on grounds of removing Saddam from power only, opposing brutal dictators being his MO. I didn’t and don’t agree with him in this case, but that’s where he always stood.

To infer from that that he’d be in favour of anti-Muslim policies is just plain daft.

Good article on the subject if you’re interested. I’m not a fan of the new atheists and particularly their treatment of Muslims but I think you’re being unfair to Hitchens.

I’m not saying I agree with Hitchens’ Iraq stance but he wasn’t as bloodthirsty as you suggest.

Unfortunately unlike our allies across the pond, lassoing the president did not go on to become a beloved 500-year tradition.

“Six days later, the justice minister, Katsuyuki Kawai, stepped down after a report that he had re-gifted potatoes to some constituents that he had received from a fellow politician. His wife, Anri Kawai, a candidate for Parliament, was also accused of paying double the legal limit of about $140 a day to staff members who travel in vans shouting campaign slogans.”
