Elden Ring Friendship Circle

i had to go look up rune bears because i already forgot, but yea i tended to skip the fuck out of those if i could. their attack pattern is so annoying and they have the command grabs so you cant get too slicey dicey on them.

Stupid UI design where messages like “Somewhere a heavy door has opened” block attack inputs until you press triangle

Are you sure you want to just waste this flask to summon your dead horse? Are you positive??

Stonesword Key was used.

And now you die because you forgot to make the message go away before finding a monster behind the fog door.

Somehow I’ve put about 80 hours into this game over the last 10 days. Only to the red wolf guy on the main questline, but I’ve been doing a lot of other stuff on the side. Spent some time last night working through the ruin strewn precipice. Fighting the two singing bat ladies at once took a few tries.

The precipice is actually progress on the main questline, so nothing wrong there. What’s your main weapon?

I’m using sword of night and flame +5. I understand it’s been nerfed substantially since launch, but it’s still pretty fun to play with. It took a lot of grinding to level my stats up enough to use it.

Heh, yeah, Bandit starts out very low on both int and faith, so that is indeed some grinding. It’s still a good sword, for sure, even if you’ll probably come across some things later that could outclass it, depending on how you build your character. It can also take you all the way if you keep upgrading it (like most weapons).

that weapon is one of my favorites

I defeated Rennala after an embarrassing number of attempts. I think she was hard for me because I’m emphasizing magic, and that doesn’t hurt her very much. I had much better results after I switched to melee with Bloody Slash AOW, with some help from wolf summons in second phase. Afterwards, the Roundhold guy told me to go to Leyndell, but I wanted to explore some more. I ended up in a creepy tunnel full of giant ants.

Yeah, summoning wolves works really well against Renala.

i like the undead spear guys summon, it carried me so much

I loved them too, but I had a way better time against Rennala with the wolves than with them. And yeah, Rennala is a great example of why having a big toolbox makes the game easier.

Got a double KO vs Radahn. Still gave me the great rune.

Was having fun clearing out Nokron, but got stuck on the bullshit that is the Valiant Gargoyles. After that did some exploring of Altus Plateau and found a bunch of crazy dancing people in windmill towns. I almost beat Godskin Apostle, but got third partied from behind when he was down to his last HP.

Switched tactics today, and had a very productive session, beating Commander Niall, killing a glint stone dragon, and clearing a catacomb and a cave. I’ve been experimenting with Moonveil. Not sure I like it as much as sword of night and flame, but I will give it some more time.

Yeah he’s pretty tough but the good thing about this boss is that after you beat him that one time you’ll never have to see him again.

Sainted Hero’s Grave is a quality catacombs. I found the Black Knife Assassin guarding the entrance more difficult than the boss inside.

Happy to have figured this out on my own

Did anyone use sleep pods/arrows against Godskin noble? I’ve tried using both and he seems to only fall asleep about 20% of the time when I hit him with one, is that normal? Should I be using another method? Nothing I do is getting him down below 75% health but I suck and Im at level 42 - which may also be too low here.

If your arcane level isn’t all that high, you may need to hit him with a second pot in order to trigger the status effect. Or if you hit him while he’s on the move, he may not be in the mist long enough for the status to build up enough.
