Do you like Concerts? What are your experiences?

I like concerts if they’re not too loud and people stay in their seats instead of standing the entire time.

Ugh. Finally saw VH in 2012. The ushers were really enforcing staying in your floor seat. Wtf is the point of just sitting and watching Eddie play Eruption.

Saw The Eagles last night.

Some thoughts.

  1. seeing a band eith 50 years touring experience is interesting. Its basically just a greatest hits concert which is great not having that section where the band plays new shit noone has ever heard before.

  2. my god, I looked and there wasnt a single black person in the audience. Not that I could find. It was roughly 95% white, 5% asian.

  3. Joe Walsh still absolutely kills it at 75. His voice is going a bit but that dude shredded his heart out all night.

  4. Vince Gill has an incredible voice and his performance is going to lead me looking up his older stuff today.

  5. I had never seen this before but they opened with “One of these Nights” and Henley was clearly lip singing. Neither he nor anyone else the rest of the night appeared to be. He did great renditions of both The Boys of Summer and Desperado where it was clear he was singing live. It was very jarring. Lik, why open the show with the one song you cant do live anymore?

Was a blast though. 2:15 of straight hits and we really had a good time. Brand new venue in CA too. The very first show in the venue

My daughter is going to see Taylor Swift on Thursday :weary:

Goodbye $1500 :)

We are trying to play the stub hub game here in Detroit. Tickets never dip below $750

Was hoping for the day if tickets maybe get them for 250 and we would
Think
About it

At 600+ no thanks.

I “only” paid $300 for her actual ticket. A family friend got it months ago through some agency that apparently was not Ticketmaster. Hopefully they are not turned away at the gate lol

Had a buddy but a ticket to Metallica at comerica park years ago. On Craigslist’s. He showed up at the show and found out his ticket was fake lol.

He’s a dick so it’s been a running joke for multiple years now.

Obviously this doesn’t work for Craigslist-type transactions, but a number of years ago I read a tip that you should have a scalper walk up to the ticket scanner with you, and hand over the money if and when the ticket scans properly.

Since in-person scalping is rarer these days, I’ve only had two opportunities to do this. Neither time did the scalper object. One of two times, the scanner rejected the ticket and I saved myself an expensive scam.

Went to my first ever classical concert in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. This place has Asia’s largest pipe organ so you know it’s good! Tickets were half off at the door, so it cost me $20. Pretty cool, would do again.

I am also keeping an eye on Taylor Swift ticket prices for my kid. Four shows in LA, all tickets over $700 with fees for terrible seats.

That’s the market value. If someone puts a ticket up forn$500 it’s not going to last long

So the scalper didn’t know it was fake?

That’s a good question. I’m not sure. I’m guessing he knew but figured he had nothing to lose by seeing if I got in and would pay him. His surprise at the ticket not scanning didn’t seem very genuine, either.

My brother is going to see Taylor Swift in July. :harold:

This is what a $300 ticket to a Taylor Swift show purchased five months in advance looks like :+1:
