Saw Loverboy circa 2010 in a little place. Dude could still sing but weighed about 3 bills and sweating his ass off. Any 15 seconds without lyrics he goes back and someone towels him off and he’s drinking water directly from a beer pitcher.
Saw loverboy open for someone this summer. Hagar maybe? They were still solid.
Does Sammy play VanHagar songs?
Yeah this last tour was more VH songs than usual. Played old stuff like Judgment Day
If you get a chance to see Sammy do it. Even mid 70s he’s still got it.
Saw a recent Loverboy live concert video on YouTube not too long ago. Just could not equate the old fat guy singing with the dreamy Mike Reno of my youth, though the voice still sounded decent.
Another one that blew me away was Donny Iris. Still smashing it on stage at 80 years old!
I splurged last week and bought me a ticket for the Boss in June in Berlin. Can go there by train. He isnt getting any younger. But Billy Joel would also be nice. Wow just saw he is in Berlin as well in March. Have to check after work.
Checked: Its not him. lol Just some cover dude.
Took my kid, nephew and wife to see Saint Motel last night, they’re a lot of fun live. The horns get me going.
Interesting, i just heard of them because they’re on the lineup for bonnaroo. You’d see them again?
Yeah, I’ve been a fan for a while. They’re fun live, most of their songs are really upbeat. Played maybe one ballad-y song.
My wife had never seen them, she said she’d go again.
Going in 2 weeks
I’m seeing them in about a month, never seen them before and I’m pumped.
I’ve been listening to a bunch of stuff off albums. Gotta say I only go a few songs deep but am sure I will enjoy any live thrashing.
I saw Metallica several times in the 90s, including at Arrowhead in a double bill with GnR, who they absolutely blew off the stage. I think that was the first “heavy metal” concert I’d ever been to and women flashing their boobs was very much a thing, much to my delight. Also my friend tried to smuggle a bunch of joints into the stadium in his hat, but of course lost them all.
Went to the two night Metallica concert this weekend. Outstanding. Round stage in the middle of the Eagles stadium. Patrons in the middle and around. 8 giant video towers. We were in noise bleeds but sound was still great. Actually just right as didn’t need hearing protection. My son saw them in an arena around 2011 and said the sound we had was much better.
Definition of a rock god:
We’re set to see them in a few weeks for the first time, I’m really excited!
You got the 1 night or 2 night version coming?
2 nights, my gf is going with me on night 1 and I’m riding solo on night 2
For us the closing of S+D/MoP on night 1 was better than 1/sandman on night 2 though I probably like the night 2 playlist a little more.
I know they switch things up from town to town.
They played the instrumental Call of Ktulu that is my son’s favorite night 2. Apparently that’s something that only makes the 2 night version.
The show was this past weekend, absolutely amazing.
The finale of One and then Enter Sandman to close a show is probably the best 1-2 punch I’ve ever seen live and I’ve seen hundreds of bands. Absolutely great ending of a concert.
Night 1 was also great, Maater of puppets live was really great. I’m happy i went to both nights. Great experience all around.
One/Sandman was great, for whatever reason we enjoyed SD/MoP better, they seemed to jam on longer. Idk.
