Arguing with him is likely a dead-end, but if you find yourself continuing, it can be quite fruitful to attack the premises underlying his perspective rather than small-balling around specific claims. Like: Why are ātheyā covering up Flat Earth? Oh, because it would cause a major panic, maybe unrest and rioting? Would it? Did you panic or riot when you realised? If you think it would cause panic, hadnāt you maybe better stop talking about it?
Other stuff too, depending on his cosmology. Briefly relate the story of the discovery of Neptune (initially theorised to exist solely because of discrepancies in Uranusā orbit) and ask him why the heavenly bodies behave so much as though they were what standard science tells us they are. If we can find a new planet using assumptions based on spherical bodies orbiting a gigantic sun, obeying gravitational laws, isnāt that a lot of fine-tuning? Doesnāt it suggest that maybe God is in on the lie?

I imagine itās fairly polarised, with a large number of fairly dim types and a small number of very smart, but very eccentric types. Iāve said it before, but dumb people do not get very far when they try to pick holes in popular proofs of the Earthās sphericity. Smart people sometimes can.
Honestly, this isnāt too far from what Q believes anyway and you could probably convince a Q believer of this. GWB is not a good guy in the Q world.

I convinced one of my non conspiracy friends who was falling for the save the children shit that a lot of it was just that and a right wing agenda and shes off the train. Still more work to do but definitely a win. You can win those people back, the ones who actually think its about helping children

I think my mom was a Q moron decades before Q. People have brought comparisons to the satanism panic of the 80ās/90ās. As a kid growing up around that time, I was taught that each and every single adult wants to kidnap me and I was not allowed to go over to friends houses (or even really have friends), go outside, or talk to anyone who wasnāt in the family, because my mom thought Iād be kidnapped into sex trafficking (and told me in great detail what would happen to me).
Amazing Iām not more messed up than I am. She really bought into the Y2K apocalypse thing as well and was obsessed with biblical numerology.
