Democratic Primary Debates

Excellent, welcome aboard MamaStim. Her Toxic Twitter Troll Training is in the mail I assume.

DNC gonna say “cant hold primaries due to corona so we’ll let the delegates decide instead”

Trump is wondering why corona couldn’t have waited until this fall to hit so he could delay the election indefinitely.

If she had a twitter she would absolutely be shitting on Biden all by herself. Kinda crazy, she LOVED Obama, like a lot. But she was dunking on Joe Biden immediately after the first debate saying he sounds like a mumbling old idiot who’s going senile . Also thought he had zero chance to beat Trump from the beginning.

She also saw Jimi Hendrix live on acid so she’s kinda a badass.

Are you sure we don’t share the same mom? Same age, LOVED Obama, also saw Jimi live, probably while on something!

Though although she herself is not a moderate she’s convinced that’s what we need this time to defeat Trump, and doesn’t care who the candidate is as long as that gets accomplished.

Hahaha that’s awesome.

Well I’d just keep making the case for why Bernie does have the best chance. The people saying Bernie can’t win are the same people who said Hillary couldn’t lose. And the only way to beat Trump is to have a candidate who can inspire new voters, and Bernie is the man to do that. All the moderates will eventually line up behind Bernie after the primaries because of how god awful Trump is. The people who don’t normally vote won’t give a shit though and just go back to their normal lives if they aren’t truly inspired.

Bernie is the real Obama and the people who loved them some Obama think Bernie is going to destroy the country.

mcgovern and mondale got completely destroyed running on that platform at the time. If Bernie was running in that era he’d have gotten obliterated too. Electorate was way different then.

Best reason I can think of but Bernie wouldn’t be McGovern is the MSM at the time was dominant for news consumption. However, the MSM is still important.

one house dem moderate has already sprinted away from bernie as fast as he can but that seat was pretty much toast anyway. Like him, a few will step out as rural districts are going the opposite of bernie and those are where many of the moderates left in the house are. This is probably why some dems are scared of losing the house this cycle with a bernie ticket. House was supposed to be a safe D race and now it’s not which is unfortunate.

Trump actually has more untapped voters than any dem does so I expect R’s to drop most of their voter suppression efforts. (except GA, but it’s hard to see that state being motivated by bernie, it’s not a good state for him)

(I still think Bernie gets the nomination, if they were going to ratfuck anyone it was McGovern who nobody wanted to run as VP because they were certain they were all going to get their asses kicked but they let it go) If delegate count between him and say Biden is somewhat close then it’s going to be an unfortunate argument with some valid points on both sides which nobody would really know for sure the correct answer (and it might be about even or not matter anyway).

As I’ve stated though, the claim that bernie has all these new voters, well many primaries are open ones, and so far the answer is no. He’s gained through other dem voters instead.

I see what you’re getting at, but one of these is not like the other ones. Mondale and ESPECIALLY McGovern would recognize her as being, if they were feeling generous, maybe 1% or so to the left of Nixon.

But I agree with the rest of your points, here.

I thought 37% of Bernie’s Nevada voters were first time caucusers…why is that not evidence he is bringing in new voters?

More polarizing than Trump?

It’s also extremely important for the Dem E to make a big show of rejecting Sanders to please their big donors. It doesn’t necessarily means when push comes to shove that they’ll pull out deep ratfucking to do it.

I thought the opposite but if you’ve got a good reason for this in all ears.

Just all the lols. 150 years of conservative voter suppression but they’re gonna quit now because reasons? Okjlawgif

Among the Dems of course.

It’s a balance, but they differentiate themselves on things corporations and the very wealthy don’t care about (guns, abortion, and race) and argue about the difference between a top bracket of 28-35% income, not really disagreeing on capital gains so they don’t lose the donor class.

Bernie calls for pretty big increases for doctor, lawyer, Netscape software engineer type incomes.

Their perception of reality is more important than actual reality in predicting their actions. It only matters if the party establishment sees Hillary Clinton as maybe too liberal, not whether she actually is.

Two intelligent people can come away with different conclusions based on the same data.

My Father-in-Law (a psychiatrist) I’m pretty sure voted for Bernie. I think my M-in-L, who is not the least bit conservative, likes Amy.

McGovern lost because Americans sucked and wanted to either keep killing Southeast Asians or have “peace with honor”. I don’t know how everyone just forgets the Vietnam war was a big deal. I guess we’re just that used to permanent war.
