That’s kinda what I had in mind, but I wasn’t really thinking protests and police riots. But now that you mention it, yeah, not impossible. Can’t imagine the won’t be demonstrators outside when it hits the fan.

I’m watching it or the first time on the DVR, and Attack Dog Liz is looking very Vice Presidential. Just fucking laying waste to this field in beast-like fashion. Damn it Liz, why did you sell out on healthcare??? You had this! You’ll be a good VP though.

I think M4A is great to campaign on, and eventually will pay dividends down the line.

However since there’s no 60-seat majority coming any time soon, the best any president can hope for is fixing up the ACA some - which will be good. Bernie’s not going to be able to wave a magic wand and get M4A through Congress.

Liz isn’t going to wave a magic wand and get slight improvements passed either!

And just because something won’t get passed doesn’t mean you shouldn’t fight for it.

I don’t necessarily agree, they can get a majority and nuke the filibuster. Most importantly, though, they won’t get all of what they fight for - so it’s important not to start from a compromise position.

Yeah like I mentioned, there’s a certain breed of third-way man - who worships Tim Ferris, has at least considered an all-male beat the war drum/howl at the moon camping weekend, and listens to JRE on 2x speed - who’s also deeply misogynist and completely unaware of it.

Right - but you’re dragging Liz for what - considering a public option? That seems like splitting hairs.

None of your posts make any sense. Improvements to the ACA don’t need a magic wand.

I specifically said M4A is good to campaign on because it will pay dividends down the line.

NBC uploaded the debate and removed the final question about if the person with the most delegates should win. They have since taken down the entire video.

Not a conspiracy tho.

Nah, for making that her opening position and doing so in a very disingenuous way where she claimed her plan was to get the full thing done after the midterm election, which would mean passing two major healthcare reform bills in a 2-3 year window, while gaining/holding majorities in the midterm election. She’s smart enough to know that’s never happening.

If Bernie is just serious he’s an insanely angry screaming old man. Dunno if it’s that Jews as well as women who aren’t allowed to step out of line.

I don’t think they’re just completely unaware of it, they would object vociferously to the suggestion. Like a racist Republican, they would receive an accusation of misogyny as a personal attack on them rather than a valid criticism of their world view.

Half right, the magic wand doesn’t need Congress to be involved as Trump already demonstrated. Declare healthcare a national emergency and issue an EO lowering the age of Medicare eligibility and let the courts fight it out, fuck it.

Yeah, this. There is no correlation between how progressive a policy is and how much resistance there will be. It took 60 D senators to pass a republican health care bill ffs.
Passing legislation is a different challenge than it used to be. If anything is gonna get passed filibuster has to go and we need to make DC into like 20 more States.

Otoh, this approach has merit.

Main area that Bernie wafflecrushes the field is in willingness to call out D roadblocks who are acting in bad faith (dissembling and selling out to lobbyists/corporate interests).

Look at how Trump has the R party marching in lockstop to defend his rampant corruption and lawlessness through sheer relentlessness, repetition and yes, high energy.

Don’t tell me that you won’t even try do the same in trying to deliver healthcare for the American people, that it is a hopeless cause.

Loved, loved, loved Bernie’s side of this “debate.”

To Obama, Sanders is a lot of what’s wrong with Democrats: unrelenting, unrealistic, so deep in his own fight that he doesn’t see how many people disagree with him or that he’s turning off people who should be his allies. To Sanders, it’s Obama who represents a lot of what’s wrong with Democrats: overly compromising, and so obsessed with what isn’t possible that he’s lost all sense of what is.

Well you know, they see themselves as “gender realists”. There’s no malice. It’s just that girl brains just don’t do that poker/logic/scienc-ey stuff and society would be better off if everyone recognized it. Also don’t you dare lecture me like you’re my Mom or something. I am emotionally detached from this issue and very smart.
