Ya Bernieâs messaging could be better. I have that thought after every debate. If he just explained we need a mixed system with socialism for stuff we need (health care, education, more income equality, etc) and can still have capitalism for the things we want (hamburgers, cars, etc) and have the best of both worlds it would be simple and he could hit a home run.
I guess that might piss off a few hardcore Chapo level socialists but they are never leaving the fold anyways so who cares.
There are 600 billionaires in the US, so even if 99% are pure evil there would still be 6 âdecentâ billionaires in the country. I suspect weâre probably looking at one of them in Steyer.
Watching some highlights⌠Is Warren really crying about other candidates because of PACâs when she is obviously taking from some kind of PAC too, lol.
Prove me wrong?
Opps sorry Victor, didnât mean to quote you thereâŚ
Socialism for the things we need to survive and capitalism for the things we want to live fuller lives is a great way of selling democratic socialism/fully regulated capitalism in America.
I sort of feel the same way and itâs why Iâve kept him lower on my list. I just donât trust a billionaire to handle the problems we currently have in this country with⌠billionairesâŚ
But I do think thereâs a genuine chance Steyer is a good dude who either decided to get dirty to have a bigger impact getting the country cleaned up or who saw the light along the way. He walks and talks like a legit progressive in these debates.
I think Steyer has realised that the country is heading in a direction he does not want to see and has decided to try and make a difference.
I genuinely think some people have touched him and he knows the money heâs sitting on will never be spent, so he will make some available for the good of the poor folks.
One of the Black leaders they listed as endorsing Pete:
Even though I had had conversations with the [Buttigieg] campaign, it was clear to me, or at least I thought I made it clear to them, that I was a strong Bernie Sanders supporterâactually co-chair of the state, and I was not seeking to endorse their candidate or the plan. But what I had talked about was potentially giving them a quote of support in continuing the conversation, because I do think itâs a very important conversation.
