Democratic Primaries 2020 - Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

What I’m gathering is Bernie shouldn’t have been wearing that tight progressive skirt and revealing socialist midriff whilst walking down that dark street primary at night during 2019-20?

Is that about the long and short of it?

Perception of reality is more important than actual reality in elections.

I think that it is a reasonable moral choice if Bernie supporters want to sit out the general election or even vote for Trump and it’s a reasonable moral choice if they choose to vote blue no matter what. I disagree with people who insist that one way or the other is the only way.

I’m just a pedant who gets annoyed by what I consider to be inaccurate claims.

I think it’s more like some people can’t accept that other people don’t think Bernie is the hottest chick unless they are idiots who are turned off by pointy elbows or possibly because they are gay.

But either way you’re saying that dumb bitch deserved to be raped, right?

p.s. I mean… right? You did use your own free will to handwave then segue into a non-sequitur, right? Just trying to be clear here.

No. He should have known he was going to be raped and done more to prevent it. If you’re not 100% sure you can fight off an army of attackers including the police you shouldn’t walk down the alley of electoral politics.

Gotcha. Sometimes I miss the nuance.

I’m not really expecting anything. I personally find some hope in the fact that so much of Bernie’s platform is becoming more and more central to the (broad) left, and I’m hopeful that if a better candidate comes along and/or the demos keep shifting we’re gonna see real change. In fact, I admire and am thankful for a lot of the Bernie supporters (at least the ones who do more than just yell online) for the work they’ve done and I’m frustrated for them that it feels continuously stymied.

But as far as what I’m expecting you to do? That’s up to you. In my opinion it comes off a little unhinged to keep it up, but if you guys get something out of telling each other it was rigged over and over again, then go for it. I guess it probably feels like you’re doing something, but I don’t think you actually are.

what fraud are you referring to?

You just gave up the game.

And here I was in the middle of making a serious reply to your earlier post, because I thought you were a serious person.

How dare I trivialize rape by using it in an analogy about [checks notes] a political fight that literally determines hundreds of thousands dying or not, and millions more suffering and living in misery.

It’s sort of like American democracy is a terminal cancer patient and the different candidates are different treatments. Trump is just sucking it up and trying to get over it on your own, Biden is chemo then palliative care, while Bernie some new drug that shows promise but hasn’t been approved by the fda yet.

The new drug is the only thing that may save the patient, things are already looking really bad. You guys are all saying that since the drug hasn’t been approved, it’s a bad option, and it was bad to ever want to use it. Maybe it will be approved four years from now? Or maybe a better treatment will come along?

But I agree that the drug probability won’t work just like Bernie probably can’t save the country even if he is elected. But like, shits bad. Inequalities is only going up, poverty is only going up, most schools suck, and our aging population is going to blow up the medical field as well as the economic system in general.

And this is before the coronavirus which has shown just how shitty everything already was.

I decline to work within a framework that treats your rape analogy as accurate and relevant.

Here’s the thing, those folks don’t really care if trump wins

Only if the platform was pandering. Remember when Hillary copied Bernie’s and ran the most progressive platform in American history?

They’re certainly all Biden > Bernie people, wouldn’t surprise me if they were also trump > Bernie people as well.

So do we #believewomen this time or nah?:thinking:

So edgy to trivialize rape. ooooh. No! Rape is serious. It’s not like politics, a spectator sport with no real-world consequences. At least, I mean, no consequences for me personally. My daughter will never want for anything. But she might get raped, so you shut your edgy mouth!
