Ugh this is going to be a massive shit show tomorrow, isn’t it?

Yea this is kinda already the event that’s going to be used to cancel the general. We’re all just sitting here watching and there’s nothing we can do.

In b4 lawbros explain why that’s impossible

So Ezra Klein went on Ben Shapiro’s show. So far nothing about Vox being cancelled from Neera Tanden and all the other freaks who pretended to be mad that Joe Rogan exists.

Expect to see clips of people coughing up their lungs in polling locations tomorrow, people crammed into small buildings waiting in line to vote, and the inevitable covid19 cases and deaths that will result in the weeks to follow. The DNC will have blood on their hands for acting against the guidelines set forth by the CDC and not postponing the elections. What happens next is obvious: Trump will use the family tragedy stories from the aftermath — directly tied to the reckless decision-making by the DNC — as fuel for his campaign to effortlessly defeat Biden in November. The playbook writes itself.

What I absolutely love is that the typical Bernie voter is the type to responsibly stay home.

Klein is a good dude but he definitely has that West Wing lover approach if talking to the other side like they’re serious thinkers, even when they clearly are not. I think he stll has a crush on Paul Ryan.

And I’m pretty comfortable saying that if the healthy youngs were gonna turn out and the vulnerable olds stay home, which seems logical on its face, these primaries would be snap-postponed.

I just started watching west wing on Netflix. Most unrealistic show I have ever seen.

The West Wing is basically centrist Dem Fox News. On a much smaller scale, of course, and not laughably presented as news, but it does show that self serving delusion is not exclusive to the right.

My right wing d bag statistics professor was a massive fan and used to bring up The West Wing at least once per class period. That told me all I needed to know about it.

Re: Paul Ryan, he does not. On a couple of his podcast episodes he has talked about Paul Ryan, admitted that he used to think Ryan was serious, but now just thinks Ryan is a joke. I’m a big Ezra Klein fan, in part because he’s extremely open and honest about his own views, he’s introspective and willing to admit his own flaws and blind spots in a way that very few people in media are. His podcast over the past year has basically been a journey of introspection and personal growth.

When I say unrealistic I’m talking about having a president that thinks deeply about issues and tries to make decisions based on principles that he or she lives by.

It’s kinda wild to have gone through a personal political journey from being a conservative that flirts with Ron Paul Ryan types of libertarianism in 2010 to being to the left of ~all national US politicians in 2020. Just like slowly learning that ~all politicians and pundits are fos in their own ways and that the only group of people that have a fully fleshed out and coherent worldview are the ones on the left.

Knowing that Ezra Klein gets praised for being introspective for moving from about where I am now to the center is lol. Like he has to have a worldview that allows himself to be “better” than most people because he has millions upon millions of dollars and he doesn’t just not feel guilty, he can’t imagine how he used to feel comfortable without it.

So polling in Ohio is closed, I think? I’m trying to keep up with this but the news keeps changing. Big thanks to Tom Perez who is going out of his way to kill as many of his constituents as he can in order to make certain Biden gets the nom.

I thought the post was coherent. I also think Ezra Klein is a sort of half-bright guy who generally regurgitates conventional liberal wisdom. What are the unmissable Ezra Klein pieces where he provides insight you don’t get elsewhere? I can give you them for writers I like.
