Here’s something I posted during slaverygate:

You don’t need to double check with Flint to say clean water is good, or question yourself when somebody says it bad, even if that somebody is black. And, many things are as obvious as this Flint example, even if they’re not obvious to you.

I’m not trying to get too cute, I do get it, but a black man puts on his pants in the morning just like everybody else and what you see as respectful anti-infantilising is actually serious othering. Not only that, it’s now being weaponized against you to win this election, to a degree I’ve never seen before.
