Just because trans people really need healthcare too, it doesn’t follow that people who advocate for LGBTQ rights beyond healthcare are doing it for performative reasons. Most gay people could have benefited from M4A in the 80s and 90s, but they also could have benefited from less employment discrimination and having the right to get married and raise children. They could also have benefited from Reagan and his pals not being homophobic sacks of shit (if I’m allowed to say that) that could have led to a much better government response to the HIV/AIDS health crisis.

I’m not disagreeing, except semantically, and for the record I don’t consider you a filthy neeratandist (i assumed that went without saying).

I used ‘m4a’ as an avatar for m4a plus all the things you describe. It’s all in the same bucket imo, things that require political capital to improve material conditions. And all those are ‘rights beyond’ just wanting people to stop yelling ‘f----ts’ at gay couples from moving cars.

I understand you also specifically mentioned Human Rights Campaign and their reaction to Rogangate and I don’t mean to brazenly gloss over that.
