This is the gift the delayed counting and victory speech gave Buttigieg. Assuming Bernie wins IA in the end, Pete may get to go (effectively) 1-2 instead of 2-3 or 2-4. A close second in NH is massive for him and could put him in play in Nevada I think, especially if Biden goes 4th or worse in NH.
He’d have gotten a bump from a narrow second but not like this. This is the kind of stuff Bernie will have to overcome throughout the process. Not quite cheating, but lots of leaning on the scale.

Exactly. Furthermore, because the national conversation around Trayvon was so fucked up and nobody wants to relitigate it, many people have been able to take cover by scapegoating Zimmerman as some unique Hitlerian evil and not a common pawn who unwittingly served racist and capitalist interests.
It’s like this: When they tried to no-angel Michael Brown (in fact, that’s what started the specific ‘He’s No Angel’ phrasing trope) people quickly got on the ball with, “So what? He smoked weed and stole some cigarillos? Gtfo.” But even a year prior they didn’t know how to react when Trayvon was in the crosshairs. They were posting pics of him pre-pubescent and other silly shit.
But me? I was like, really? That’s fucking awesome. Because they were saying he was breaking into homes and stealing valuables. They were essentially saying he was a cat burglar. Imo, and ymmv but I think people have finally caught on, that’s how to talk about racism and the union between racism and capitalism. Just lean right the fuck in to whatever they’re throwing. Because, what would the Mayor Petes of the world say if instead Trayvon had got in to the wine cave, slinking under laser beams, absconding with some vintage reds? Would black lives matter then or would they secretly hope he had some deadly encounter with a wayward vigilante? Forget about it.

I still think he gets a lot of Warren supporters. Maybe not the extremely online types who you interact with, but I know several Warren stans who have Bernie as their 2nd choice. Hell there a many of them on this board.
Most Warren supporters like her because they think she would be more effective than Bernie at getting stuff done, meaning they want progressive shit done. If he comes down to it they will 100% support Bernie over GOPete. If they didn’t support progressive shit in the first place they would have went with Klob, GOPete or Biden. Warren gained almost all her support by talking about taking on the billionaires and wall street.
You’re just in a tiny lil online bubble where Warrens most hardcore supporters are mad at Bernie. That bubble is legit like 1% of actual voters.

False. If she drops and endorse him, he’ll get his share. That’s probably what’s going to happen, as she’s either going to be his VP, his Treasury Secretary or both.
She’s going to run out of money way before that. Dunno how she can compete on Super Tuesday, let alone make it past Super Tuesday, without winning a state on ST or getting like a strong second in NH or something. She’s already pulling ads in Nevada to save money.
It’d be a good thing if she made it to the convention though, she’d be very likely to throw all her support behind Bernie to be his VP.
Still maintain that this would not be good for either Sanders or Warren.
