Tilted me right from the start with the pretending to be a woman, id have no problem telling that person to go fuck themselves
Hey it’s not racist to just state the FACTS.
Nah it’s just something my mother copy/pasted.
I don’t think she’s shared a single thought of her own on Facebook since she discovered it. Basically it’s like Trump’s Twitter account if all Trump did was retweet things.
I think like once every two months she posts a picture of her with my sisters but that’s it. I check it once or twice a month in case I miss that. But when I do, I report everything she shares or posts.
Reinforcing and extending the strict-father morality is the highest calling of the conservative moral system. How do you know who gets to be the strict father who makes the rules? There are two sources in this order:
The Christian God
The American Father
I lold p hard at saying socialism is just rebranded communism
You can get hours of entertainment just asking a person like that to define the term. Nothing fancy. Just their personal definition.
Wow, that completely filled my batshit FB post bingo card.
A few comments so far which is quite a lot for a post from my mother.
The third one is gold. It literally reads like a tweet from Donald Trump from the random capitalization to putting words in parentheses for no reason.
I’ve had the unfortunate experience of meeting these people pre-Trump. They aren’t bots. They exist in this world.
Can they go ahead and die off now so we can move to socialism now?
I don’t know, a lot of it seems like they’re just stupid and the world is too complicated for them to understand, and I feel a lot of sympathy towards that. If you’ve never thought about what the census is or why we do it, then I can understand why the citizenship thing would piss you off. Also I could understand how, if you’ve never thought about how everything about gender is just kinda made up anyway, you could be pretty upset about how confusing it all is. But in reality, the constant underpinning all of that is just a hatred of people who are different from you and a desire to see them suffer. And that’s a horrible position to take.
Stuff like that pops up on my MIL’s facebook page from time to time, and it’s almost always her longtime boyfriend just using her page as a dumping ground (picture textbook tech-illiterate Trumpstain Boomer who doesn’t want his own account because reasons). I guess he thinks it’s harmless but my wife always holds her accountable. “So Mom I saw your post today, is that really what you think about trans people? I wonder what [trans person in our family] would think if they saw that.”
She always freaks out and gets super apologetic and is all “oh dammit he’s at it again” and takes it down right away and supposedly tells him to stop posting stuff, but obviously if she really cared she’d change her damn password and log out of FB every time she’s done.
I’ll vote for anyone who promises to drone strike Facebook’s servers.
Does she know how?
This is the thing I have to remind myself of. The political opinions aren’t as bad as the fundamental moral beliefs that underpin them. If you can’t break them down then you’ll never break down any of their political opinions.
In hindsight, I’d rather have my mother discover my internet history as a teenager than Facebook.
That’s a fair question. I’d say fairly likely but I should have my wife ask her next time.
That said, I think at least part of it is that she halfheartedly agrees with some of the stuff he posts. She’s the type that claims to be apolitical, and when people are arguing about this stuff will just vehemently insist “NO POLITICS!!” rather than take either side. But the few times she’s dared offer an opinion it’s way closer to her bf’s than ours.
I like the comment where the guy writes socialism but in parentheses communism.
I really can’t get over how Trump-like that comment was. Goes to show that the more you love Trump, the more like him you are.
There’s also zero awareness about those that get sent to college seem to realize the flaws of a 100% capitalist society. Nah, they’ve obviously been brainwashed by libtard professors.
Is there a hypothetical breaking point where we’d agree that cutting people out is the right call? A father who thinks white people are smarter than minorities? A stepmom spamming Facebook disinformation in favor of family separations policies? How about if that same father threatened to punch you in front of your wife and toddler because you told him to stop ranting about the goddamn wall around your Mexican-American friend? I’d like to believe these people can someday have a net positive relationship with my kids, but maaaaann…
Fox News is a helluva drug.
Yes there is i would say. Can’t say for the first two instances but that one about father threatening to punch you would be a dealbreaker imo.
