I was meeting friends and hanging out etc, but after my most recent scare I’m going back to super cautious.
But for people who have remained cautious the whole time like you, when do you expect to go back to normal? There is no herd immunity with Delta so at what point do you decide to go back to normal?
When kids under 12 can get vaccinated, also is having a kid in that age range factor into your decision?
Can you provide any evidence or reporting that supports your version of the story about 2 additional people joining their party after they were seated? The Daily News story from yesterday afternoon that Melkerson linked is primarily based on their attorney’s statements. Why would he completely fail to mention this part of the story?
Edit: I mean his claim that the hostess “has obvious issues with Black women and has a disregard for women of color” sort of contradicts your story about two new (male) patrons being the catalyst for the altercation.
So I woke up a little sniffly and having been fighting off what I suspect will be a pretty bad sore throat all day. No fever, no cough, no body aches. Really has all the earmarks of a head cold and nothing more. But it still bugs me that I caught anything at all since I’ve been wearing masks a lot while out, although there have been times where I’ve let my mask down. I’m fully vaccinated.
I dunno. Do I need a covid test? My instinct is just to shut it down for the next few days and see what develops, but I can tell its going to be a sore throat which relents after a day or two and then morphs into a very runny nose. I think if this were a breakthough covid case I would be feeling worse as the day went on, and that’s not really the case. I’ve been using cough drops to tamp down the sore throat, and otherwise don’t feel that bad.
I would be back to normal if it weren’t for my almost 2 year old. Not sure what I’m going to do going forward. At some point my kid is going to have to start interacting with other kids.
What I read is that the women had shown cards and had been seated, but then their male friends arrived and were stopped due to one or more not having vax cards. The women went outside and started to get into it with the hostess, who allegedly was getting angry herself and allegedly was getting restrained by her coworkers.
I have no idea what really happened after the women went outside, but LOL at you for assuming it would be ridiculous for an agitated, Italian New Yorker in a position of power to spew out the N-word right to a Black person’s face.
My family and I went on a camping trip to the badlands a few weeks ago. We were completely self contained and didn’t interact with anybody and my daughter managed to catch a cold and give it to both of us.
I got it last and got tested. Negative. Passed in a week or so.
ETA: was actually hoping it was mild covid as it was really mild and was hoping we picked up some more defense to covid.
Seems relatively easy to get tested, though I will check with insurance first to see if its covered. Not sure it has to be a rapid test. Seems like any test would do. I just don’t know if I need one, when I seem to be missing the most likely covid symptoms at this point. I feel like I’d be exposing people to my routine cold, if that’s what it is.
I don’t know what happened but I just can’t imagine going through that in order to get into Carmine’s of all places. What a waste. Word to the wise - if you are visiting and only have time to get arrested at one NYC restaurant, I recommend streaking at Daniel.
I guess I’m back to neutral. Initial police report was clearly incomplete and flat wrong. But I’m still troubled by the dubious claim that hostess injuries were caused by other employees.
It would be much easier if everybody just told the truth and took responsibility for their actions.
