Update on my mom: no test result yet on COVID. No result yet on the chest CT. They took her off O2 and her pulse ox held at 94-95 so that’s good.
She’s still in extreme pain, and she’s having a ton of anxiety to the extent that she can’t talk on the phone for more than 90-120 seconds. They are concerned about her liver, some level in some test was off. I assume a blood test. Unfortunately everything is being filtered through my Dad so some of the stuff he doesn’t remember perfectly.
But at least I was able to talk to her, albeit briefly.
Seriously. Call the nurses station and push to get on the list to talk to the doctor about your Mom. I think if she or your Dad signs off they should be good with it. The family needs a representative that can best understand the medical information.
Take care and good luck. They are here in Philly? Will send positive thoughts.
Thanks. They’re in Delaware. I’ll ask my Dad to add me. It’s going to be a very touchy subject, he’s probably going to be offended because it’s supposed to be his responsibility to take care of her.
Don’t know if your dad would do it, but one thing my mom did back when her parents were in the hospital was have a notebook and write down basically every single thing each doctor, specialist, nurse, etc. said. If she didn’t recognize the name of a medicine, she asked to have it spelled out. Etc. Wrote down dosage amounts.
These docs have so many cases there were definitely times they weren’t aware of what someone else had done, even if it was on a chart somewhere. In your case, it might help to ensure you’re getting relayed all the right info, since it’s no doubt hard for your dad (just as it would be for anyone) to remember everything.
I’d been bandying about changing it to this in my mind for a bit, but it wasn’t until we had multiple senators getting pozzed that I could really justify it.
Feeling this morning like things are starting to spiral out of control. Numerous people in populations that are tested daily for COVID-19 are starting to turn up positive at a seemingly alarming rate. And, there aren’t a ton of people in populations that are being tested daily.
I have an early March vibe right now, god do I hope I’m just being angsty.
Yeah, what bob said. Definitely do it. Masks for everyone. Maybe keep all the windows down. Consider more trips with fewer passengers, but definitely do it.
