The Capitol install process has to be a year or more. There are several 3rd party tolling facilities that could be readily converted and validated in much less time.
I would assume Pfizer has the facilities all in-house. Moderna hopefully thought ahead and either build capacity and/or secured time.
I don’t know anything about pharmaceutical manufacturing. But if all of the sudden the government tells my company we need to build a paper mill in six months, there’s no fucking way. We could get the building built in three months maybe but the electrical, controls, pipe fitting, all the equipment, commissioning…there’s no chance. It would take a month or two just to get the blueprints drawn up and approved. Maybe a pharmaceutical plant is less complicated but I imagine there would be licencing hoops to jump through.
In 2020 Trump’s administration and inner circle is completely made up of idiots and sycophants that don’t know how to get anything meaningful done. You expect the Four Seasons Landscaping crew to stand up and run a Manhattan Project in six months? Really?
I feel pretty much normal. Don’t see the need to get tested now, although I probably should have on Sunday when I woke up from my wtf four hour nap. But, uh, I had football games to watch.
Good for her. If enough people did this, the corporate overlords would get religion real quick and end service to the nutters. Sad that it took her forcing a confrontation with the manager to get anything done.
still nothing about a vaccine for me. A simple e-mail about how we’ll get an email once it’s our departments turn. The only other department that could possibly be ahead of us is the ICU.
My 130 person department currently has 0 people off with covid after having 15% off symptomatic about six weeks ago. Someone convince me that we haven’t achieved herd immunity among our little group. I can’t come up with another explanation.
My SIL at the Ohio memory care facility has about half the nurses saying they don’t want the vaccine. Sounds like a mix of “not tested well enough” and rural Ohio Facebook shit. I’d guess even the “not tested well enough” crowd is really Facebook.
I guess they are debating making it mandatory. It there are also worried about finding staff if they lose anyone.
These are people that watched over 30 residents die from Covid this spring.
