COVID-19: Chapter 6 - ThanksGRAVING

Assuming that there was a precise cutoff such that it would take two somewhat shorter visits
with different people, to infect, rather than one longer one, the number of such visits that would be equally dangerous would depend on the probability that your visitors were infected. If its 10% it would mean that about five shorter visits are about equivalent. If its 1% it would take about fourteen.

The top 17 states in per capita cases all voted for Trump in 2016. Quite a coincidence.

Stop lying, no one is close to 100% these days.

So I’m cleared to start envying you for being on the other side of it and clear? Does the sense of existential dread get better or nah?

Very few of my family or close friends have gotten it so I’m still worried about being able to expose other people if I start YOLO’ing it up.

Also I’m not sure what the long term effects are going to be.

But I can’t worry about that, I have been reading a ton of stoic philosophy lately to remind myself to focus on what I can control which is being a good member of society.

Long way to say no, the existential dread has not gone away.

How’s the sense of smell doing? That what scares me.

Looks like today is shaping up for an 80k sweat on Worldometers. That would be a first.

Never a symptom for me. I just had fatigue, cough, and a sore throat. The cough never got bad. I had a fever for a half a day but I’m not sure if that was just a few weird readings from the thermometer. I was very lucky.

WORKING HARD!!

It’ll be 110k in 7 days, if the US is counting right (big if)

Germany’s managed a five fold increase in 7 days but parts of US are warmer

Daily infections in Europe have more than doubled in the past 10 days.

did we hit a record today?

Depends on which tabulating site you are using. Worldometers record is 78k. We are at 72k with 2 more hours of updates, so probably.

Wait I thought we had over 100K a day back when NYC was getting hammered?

Think it’s going to be a record with an asterisk. Today has a bunch of backlogged cases.

It does? Which states? We hit 74,466 yesterday so it’s hard to imagine them being from yesterday?

Man this site rules

Worldometers is adding these to past days. So those aren’t being added to today’s numbers there:

If we break 78k on Worldometers I believe it will be a legit record. I see Covidtracking has 83k for today which obviously does need an asterisk for the reason you mentioned.
