No of course not, but blue states may act on 11/4-11/10 and slow the growth before Thanksgiving, so maybe we’re only around 150K a day or something then. (I haven’t done the math just guesstimating).

Deaths are coming up, approaching 10/day. Will go up some more. We could be looking at >500 in one month. At 800k population that’s an annualized death rate of 0.75%.
If the ifr goes back up due to overwhelmed care, colder weather, worse infected demographics. Yeesh.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that the hospital system in ND is not the best in the nation.

Hospital capacity has become a concern around the state and in Bismarck. There were 231 available staffed inpatient beds plus 30 intensive care unit beds in North Dakota on Thursday afternoon, according to state data. There were 12 available staffed beds plus four ICU beds in Bismarck: 10 beds plus three ICU at CHI St. Alexius Health and two beds plus one ICU at Sanford Health.
The messaging is really tricky on this. A lot of the early guidance focused so heavily on hand-washing that it almost crowded out guidance on keeping space between people, which is the complete opposite of what the messaging should have been. How you explain to people that this primarily spreads through the air but washing your hands is also a good idea is challenging in a world where the public seems to have lived their lives having no idea what a respiratory disease is or how they work.

This is consistent with smear transmission being a secondary means of spreading.
The French government is imposing a curfew on two-thirds of the country - 46 million people - from Friday night for six weeks, after a record 41,622 new coronavirus infections in one day.
Those studies are suspect from contract tracing. Do they take into account the # of opportunities to cause spread? Studies that focus directly on ability to infect do not seem to distinguish.
Kids don’t go to bars or rarely set the agenda.
Also 50-% of a lot is still a lot. Absolute numbers matter more than relative spread.

welp covid made it into my family finally, my sisters mother in law pozzed yesterday and was with my sister and her family at her kids sports game on sunday so now they are quarantining.
