It’s absolutely not insane when she wants to see other people, plus she might be worried about resume building.

If you made it this far you can hold out a few more weeks before making a decision about relaxing vigilance. We will probably soon know whether a vaccine for the vulnerable is likely around the corner.

In a month or two it should be safe to go out. Between college ragers proceeding like it’s 2019 and shoveling school children into the open for business machine, everyone around us should already have it by then.

No, I decided against it. I was really wanting to get out of my house and travel a bit but knew it wasn’t 100% safe so I stayed put.
I fully expect that tomomrrow will be a terrible day. Aside from my workload, I’ll find out the odds of me getting covid during the rest of the year. Hell, I can get an O/U on the number of days before the school gets closed.

We are probably a lot farther than that. The last I saw none of the stage 3 trials that the US has access to are even full yet. A vaccine may be approved roughly 3 months after stage 3 trials fully begin (ie are full). So at a bare minimum no vaccine is completing stage 3 testing before the end of the year or so.
The October surprise is the Russian vaccine.

A bunch of Chiefsplaneteers have gotten it. Some have had relatives die. The guy with the SS duck decoy avatar that Trolley noticed had his mom die supposedly. One of them works in healthcare and tested positive twice - two months apart. Asymptomatic the first time, sick the second, recovered now.
