Working while sick is one of the reasons opening casinos so early was so idiotic. Every casino I know uses a point system for attendance for their hourly workers. So if you call out sick too often, you gone.
Gets COVID, recovers, dies suddenly of cardiac arrest. Top internet-based expertise is that it probably had nothing to do with COVID tho so not sure if this is the right thread
What constitutes a short visit? Is a grocery run a short visit? Why would goggles not be standard whenever you are inside in public? Don’t people take their mask down to cough/sneeze enough that one should wear goggles regardless of how long they are somewhere? You guys are well informed and careful but the seeming lack of insistence for wearing goggles in public with a novel deadly virus is, from my current perspective, a shortcoming of this community’s mindset/response.
And then what happened?
He didn’t move or say anything lol. He looked a little surprised in the eyes, but who knows. I went in through the door on the other side.
Once inside, a rep advanced on me. She was wearing a mask but came well within six feet. I told her I needed help with a teller and she left me alone.
On the way out, lobby superspreader stayed in place but sort of stepped against the wall. The lobby is VERY small. He could have just vacated it for the two seconds it took for me to walk through it and exit. I again went through the far door and said, “Amazing.”
I was thinking on the way home that if the pandemic is going to last a while, I need to stop feeling so angry and threatened and just accept that expressing life-saving boundaries will need to be a commonplace behavior on my part when venturing outside.
Your battery should have a manufacture date on it and is likely a 42 month battery. Just replace it if it’s older than 42 months.
I’m not no. Totally reasonable to wear eye protection imo. I’m so sick of my face shield after work that I can’t bring myself to wear it in a store.
I just keep my eyes closed when I’m in public. Not in the car, OBVIOUSLY.
Yeah, me too, but this looks like a significant change to what’s been going on recently in those places. It has the additional ‘value’ of making it look like a place is continuing to have robust testing when that’s clearly not the case if you dump 4 days worth of tests with results that don’t line up moderately close to the relative rise of positives.
I’d prefer to see an overall drop in testing to seeing someone drop 40,000 tests on a Thursday with 10k on Mon-Tue-Wed if that makes sense. For me not to be suspicious I’d want to see a 3x to 4x rise in cases for dumps like that. For a couple of these places, I think they’re now reporting the day they test and not the day of the result (meaning we’ll see the rise in 7, 10, or never days) which also makes their positive rate look better.
hello pulmonary embolism (although other things obviously possible)
Lol at going to a concert during the pandemic if you have asthma (I dont believe it for one, and you can still wear a fucking mask for two) but if that is true, just fucking lol. Get a body bag ready
Why are you shaking hands?
 greed, social pressure - prospective client just put his hand out. I wiped everything down afterwards.

Prepare to see this one all over the Facebooks:
[spoiler: this is not, in fact, a randomized controlled trial]
Interestingly, there are no authors or affiliations or literally anyone willing to take credit for this …thing.
For now, I assume it’s this guy:
2B people in the test group! How can you argue with such a large test?
Randomized controlled trial across multiple countries…that doesn’t seem right?
