That’s possible if their turnaround time is only 2-3 days. If it’s 7-14 days then we haven’t seen it yet.
I don’t know current Florida test turnaround time or where to get that info.
I can see schools lasting more like a month than 2 weeks. The 5 day lag from exposure to testing positive but people who were in class with positive person will likely test right away so will get negative no matter what.
Plus the delays in getting test results back and just time to from 1st generation to 3rd/4th of spread and these districts already are ok opening so they won’t shut down over 1 or 5 or 10 cases. Look at mlb right now.
It’ll prolly take 4-6 weeks to shut down schools. This virus is so perfect against us as the time lags cause us to be complacent and act like “couldn’t see that coming” over and over and over again.

and if you face the fact most of the US had a half-arsed lockdown with many parents still out for the past months, then we should already be seeing evidence in the mass casualties of children… which we’re not
If the parents could stay in to drive cases down, the confidence comes back to release the kids. But that’s not gonna happen I understand

When UK schools reopen, what will it be like?
Schools are set to reopen fully in England in September and new guidance has been published. There are separate plans for Wales, Northern Ireland and also Scotland, where schools are scheduled to open their doors next Tuesday.
Who will be expected to go back?
Nearly all children of legal school age will be expected to return to class full-time in September - mid-August in Scotland - including those with special educational needs and disabilities, and those who have been shielding.
Do I have to send my child back?
Attendance will be mandatory again from the beginning of the autumn term.
But pupils must self-isolate and not attend school if they - or a close contact - develop symptoms or test positive for coronavirus.
And how will the school day work?
Schools will be asked to minimise the number of contacts each pupil has during the day, by keeping classes or whole year groups apart in separate “protective bubbles” rather than practising individual social distancing.
They must have strict hand-washing policies, promote the “catch it, bin it, kill it” approach for coughing and sneezing, step up cleaning and be ready to assist with contract tracing and testing.

Yeah, no way some countries in Europe start schools and others don’t.
Ministers of Education will have to accept that they will be responsible for dead kids. They probably don’t mind given that like all politicians, they’re complete sociopaths.

I would compare Cobb to Cherokee and Gwinnett to Forsyth for online vs in-school learning.
Sarcasm: only option seems to be to quarantine all kids until mid 2021. In the meantime, let’s stick with the Osark pool parties, beach trips where we definately leave the kids at home, etc.
