I think the Vancouver vs Toronto debate is kind of like a SF vs NYC debate. They’re both nice cities but at the end of the day it comes down to if you’re an SF person or an NYC person.
SC numbers are in
1400 cases (result of fewer tests, we’ve been going backwards for about a week)
19% positive (yup)
80+ dead
Removed hospitalization data again because they say it’s not at all accurate (thanks for the change Trump!)
Removed ventilator data again because it’s inaccurate
Maybe this is sweet summer child of me, but I figured the over/under on cases of permanent damage and/or extended hospitalization of an active player that would abruptly end the season would be, like, 2. And we’re already at one.
Growing evidence that a small number of cases are driving aerosol spread of the 'rona.
Aerosol transmission of viruses must be acknowledged as a key factor leading to the spread of infectious respiratory diseases. Evidence suggests that SARS-CoV-2 is silently spreading in aerosols exhaled by highly contagious infected individuals with no symptoms. Owing to their smaller size, aerosols may lead to higher severity of COVID-19 because virus-containing aerosols penetrate more deeply into the lungs (10). It is essential that control measures be introduced to reduce aerosol transmission.
