COVID-19: Chapter 5 - BACK TO SCHOOL

College footballers concerned too…

Fortunately most of the deplorables here in NH still have the part of their brains functioning that understand the importance of mask wearing and social distancing.

Jack Nicklaus just divulged that he and his wife both tested positive multiple times. She was asymptomatic and he had mild symptoms. Not bad for 80 years old. Of course now a bunch of deplorables have more hoax fuel.

Went to farmer’s market today, probably 400 people around, 95% masked up.

Right now outdoor concert 2 houses down maybe 100 people no one in a mask.

And of course its whiter than white boring blues band.

Do they think wear and fear rhyme?

My recommendations were as much about your mental health of feeling secure that you went to the extreme rather than the minimum.

For me? Two hours with good ventilation would be good.

I’m skimming but I strongly recommend trying to look after Tue or Wed posts every week. Least noise.

Do all little day to day trending too to see if there are any anomalies. Since I’m an excel fogey I tend to do every day even when I only look weekly so I can quickly look at trends and spot if I have a weird skew.

For anyone who is using data for models and such, LA is stopping reporting on Saturdays in favor of a double dose on Sundays.

He plays golf with Trump. He’s dead to me even if he claims it’s to gain support for his foundation. No reason to give the man legitimacy.

How am I not supposed to root for Ill will against these people? They are walking, armed biological weapons. Their breath is more dangerous than the guns they conceal. The quicker they get a major, possibly lethal Covid reality check, the quicker common sense will have a remote opportunity at righting this ship. Large scale suffering and death throughout the ranks of the right is the only chance we have. It’s not even a lock that that would wake them up. They quite possibly embrace maskless covid dying as a form of martyrdom.

Six year post college health insurance is a great request. Do we feel like the kids finally have leverage?

NH, western MA and lots of upstate NY are forgotten deplorable, red neck enclaves, albeit not as bad as the south.

Yeah I’m thinking three hours after they leave, then when I get here I’ll open the windows up and maybe keep a mask on for a couple hours or something. I think that’s extreme enough even for me. All of it should have settled within the three hours anyway, so it should just be a matter of wiping it down. But the extra ventilation can’t hurt.

If they try to play w/o fans hell yeah.

By now it’s starting to get pretty easy to see who’s double dumping data, so when there’s a 0 x number of days and then new cases look like x as many when they report again, the average is usually about what it would be. I personally think it’s a bad move to stop reporting when cases are going up. Kansas only reports on Mon-Wed-Fri because I think they had so few cases in the middle part of their first wave. Now that they’re pushing 500 per day they should probably be reporting daily again.

These are the states that like to take breaks: Arkansas (no Sat), Connecticut (no Sat/Sun), Kansas (Mon, Wed, Fri only), Louisiana (consistently didn’t report Saturdays a while back but not always), Rhode Island (no Sat/Sun)

Everyone else only occasionally throws up a goose egg and usually it’s only due to late reporting.

My measurement periods are Wed-Tue but I don’t do any kind of moving average except in my trendline graphs. I seem to remember setting it up that way for both the date the pandemic began and also to reduce noise in SDI average. The most reliable reporting days are Wed-Sat, in my opinion. Sun-Tue are always low.

Is treating yourself to a 1-2 night high end hotel w room service and a view not an option?

Does he sound like the kind of person who believes one can safely check into a hotel?

I thought about doing a hotel in NJ so I could play some WSOP events, but if I’m trying to find the safest way to handle this I’m not sure a hotel is it. Like I don’t feel too unsafe in the room itself. Wipe everything down, don’t leave the room - should be safe. But checking in seems risky.

Perhaps one like the Aria w person less check in at a kiosk. Wipe it down and wear disposable gloves and u are on your way. Toss in some online WSOP events and take your mind off of things for a day or two.

You’re not into Whole Foods parking lots?
