COVID-19: Chapter 5 - BACK TO SCHOOL

Airbnb? I’ve never had to meet anyone in person to get the keys.

Possibly, idk I picture Jack Nicholson in “ As Good as it Get”.

Have you ever been to Western MA?

This is Brown v Coakley in 2010:

We booked a house last weekend with a pool for a getaway, we wiped down all surfaces we touched and felt fine with the linens. Airbnb was a great situation for us.

Same, we rented a cabin in the mountains and the wife went in first and de-covided everything.

New Jersey?

I’m with you cuse, was looking for a spot to park to play some WSOP (ideally with a pool) but wasn’t finding anything optimal on Airbnb.

Nah, in Florida

Wow I stand corrected. I moved from Dorchester in 1998 and always considered anything west of Worcester non-college related as hicks and northern red necks. It’s been a while.

Rent an RV?

We’ve already used ours a couple of times to get away for a couple of days during this. You never need to interact with another human, and you control the space completely.

Wait, wait wait… Hold on. Wait. Wait. The WSOP is still happening?!? Jesus Fucking Christ.

I thought it was all online

That headline amuses me. Like a college football boycott would rate in the top fucking 500 crazy things going on in 2020.

Haha not for sleeping too. But if they come with a bracelet included, I’m in! I assume based on that dude pulling it off that they have free WiFi that stays on all night?

This could be an option. If it’s multiple days I’ll have to send some messages on AirBNB and make some calls to hotels and look for a contactless/outdoor pickup. Hopefully it’s a one day repair. Appreciate the suggestions/ideas from everyone!

I’m very pot committed to not fucking up this lockdown at this point, I’ve done too good for too long to take a chance because of some maintenance issue.

I see places but they’re crazy expensive, like $300+ a night.

That’s an interesting idea, do they have Internet now?

They’re doing online bracelet events in NJ and NV, also a global series on some other site. They still claim to be having a live series in November, but LOL that.

If nothing sportsball counts for crazy in 2020, sure. If things sportsball do count, this would surely be within the top 500.

RV campgrounds have a reputation for poor wifi. If you avoid such places, you can only go so long without having to do things like empty your waste tanks. I don’t think it is a workable plan for someone like you if you need to run the A/C all day to keep cool.

Kristin Urquiza, 39, said she tried warning her father, Mark — a lifelong Republican — against going out and risking infection. In their home state of Arizona, as leaders including Gov. Doug Ducey (R) sprinted to reopen in May and June, Urquiza could tell she was losing the argument.

“When the president, the governor and people on cable news are all saying one thing, how do you compete with that?” she said. “He would push back. ‘I hear what you’re saying, but why would the governor say it’s safe to go out if it’s not true?’ ”

Her father died of the virus June 30. In the obituary she wrote, she lashed out at government leaders.

“He was a huge supporter of Trump and Arizona governor Ducey. He believed what they said. And they betrayed him,” she said in an interview.

Look up RV parks that have cabins. Most of them do in my experience. You can pay online and ask them to hide the key for you. Some even have those locks with codes on the door and they’ll tell you the code. A lot tell you to bring your own bedding but you’d probably prefer that anyway.
