GF just got sent home from the funeral home for potential exposure. Fun day in Oklahoma
She’s got a test tomorrow at the health dept. I’m sure that 10 day turn around time for a front line worker will be helpful.

He surely met with Trump. Please Please Please Please.
Life on the Dole aint easy.
Since no one outside the UK will understand her accent - her diagnosis is “It’s confirmed… I’m a lazy cow.” (I think)
In Canada we say you’re on pogey, eh?
Oklahoma funeral home is right up there with the jobs I would least like to have right now.
Sweden says it is falling short of herd immunity
Large parts of Sweden’s population are still susceptible to the coronavirus, the country’s health authorities have said, casting further doubt on the so-called herd immunity strategy.
Herd immunity happens when a large proportion of a population develops immunity to a contagious disease, be it through community transmission or vaccination.
Sweden has seen far more coronavirus cases than any of its Nordic neighbours, recording 76,492 infections and 5,572 deaths to date, a Johns Hopkins University tally says.
Sweden did not pursue a full lockdown, instead relying on voluntary social distancing and limited restrictions, such as the banning of large gatherings.
The country’s top epidemiologist, Anders Tegnell, has previously expressed hope that herd immunity may be a useful by-product of the strategy, though not its aim.
But on Tuesday a senior Swedish health official, Karin Tegmark Wisell, said large parts of Sweden’s population “haven’t been infected” by the coronavirus, meaning they are still susceptible.
Earlier this month, a study from Spain raised questions about the feasibility of herd immunity as a way of tackling the coronavirus pandemic.
I think I’ve decided on this:
The 2017-2018 flu season was the worst in the last 10 years. Excess deaths for the 2017-2018 flu season were about 33,000. By comparison, we’ve experienced roughly 151,000 excess deaths from mid-March through mid-June (and are still waiting for accurate death counts in more recent weeks when we know that COVID has continued to have a high death toll).
The official COVID death count for the same period is only 119,000. So not only is COVID substantially more deadly than the worst flu we’ve experienced in the last decade, the official COVID numbers are almost certainly undercounting the true death toll.
In short, fuck off.
Vice on Showtime did a segment a few weeks ago over funeral homes in NYC during the worst of it. “The Last Responders”. Great piece.
Just got into a raised voice argument with my boss about how covid isn’t a big deal. He things that Florida’s 20% positive case rate is fake news and the only reason we have this many cases compared to other countries is because we test a lot more. I CANT DO THIS FOR ANOTHER YEAR.
Oh sweet it was my gf’s best friend at work. She works closely with him and spends a ton of time with him. GG. I’m fucked.
Attended the Tulsa rally, but that was too long ago.
What if I have 5-10 million banked and I’d like to move to a random EU country, can I just buy a citizenship or no?
This is a what if question, I do not current have that much money and am not planning on moving but it could be something that is possible in 15-20 years
I don’t think you can buy citizenship, but I believe if you show you have enough to take care of yourself you can legally live permanently in a lot of countries.
Google: greek golden visa.
If you purchase a property in Greece for 250k+ euros, you get a visa that let’s you live and work in the schengen(sp?) area for 10 years, maybe longer.
Coincidentally, many people who do this then air bnb the property out.
Costa Rica has a similar thing for $200k and you’re basically a citizen.
Cool, new retirement goal
There are a few countries where you get investor visas and can apply for citizenship in a few years after that. Montenegro had a program like this, I think minimum investment was €200k or something like that but I think you got your citizenship right away
This sure would be a great time to organize a teachers strike…

I’m going to the Absentee Shawnee Tribe Clinic in Shawnee for drive thru testing. It’s free and open to the public. They start at 5:30 every Wednesday and won’t turn anyone anyway. The staff I spoke to said they are using a different diagnostic laboratory than DLO because of turnaround times, so it may be worth a shot.
