COVID-19: Chapter 5 - BACK TO SCHOOL

Thanks for the heads up. I am on day 13 of no results from CVS.

Fucking absurd.

This is what I ended up commenting in regard to the just a flu people. I think the last paragraph, or something like it, might be a pretty effective approach:

For those of you who are suspicious of the numbers and think COVID is no worse than the flu:

There are differences in how states report cases and testing and COVID deaths. But the one measure you can’t fudge is overall all-cause deaths. And the effect of COVID is obvious when you look at this measure compared to the flu.

The 2017-2018 flu season was the worst in the last decade. For that flu season, the CDC reports roughly 33,000 excess (more than expected) deaths. In comparison, for mid-March through mid-June 2020, the CDC reports roughly 151,000 excess deaths. Again, these numbers are not reliant on how people categorize deaths or counting tests - they are simply dead bodies piling up faster than normal.

During the same mid-March through mid-June period, the CDC has recorded roughly 119,000 official “Deaths with confirmed or presumed COVID-19”. So not only has COVID officially killed substantially more people than the worst flu in the last decade, the actual number of COVID deaths is almost certainly greater than the official number.

Another way of looking at this:

Take the worst flu season in the last decade. Add a full year’s worth of motor vehicle deaths (roughly 36.5k). Add a full year’s worth of firearm deaths, including suicides (roughly 40k). That total STILL doesn’t equal the number of likely COVID deaths. And COVID cases continue to spread throughout the country.

So no, this isn’t anything like the flu.

Of course, nothing matters and the idiots I’m targeting aren’t going to bother reading it. But the reason I care is because I absolutely do not want morons like this influencing public school decisions. So the more I can publicly discredit them, the better.

Monaco with your sort of money, Sir - you’ll need an invite for residency though as it’s half the size of Central Park and you need to be approved

Montenegro, Turkey, Croatia, a few others. Maybe the UK or other bigger EU Nations with an investment visa

Look at the bright side - according to Donnie Dumb Dumb logic you dont have it if they never give you the test result.

Add Kroger to the list of chains requiring masks. Is this going to start a domino effect? While I support strict controls for public health, I recognize that it is politically difficult. A gradual implementation of a mask mandate isn’t ideal, but maybe we can eventually end up where we need to be by a phased-in approach starting with “essential” businesses.

Parents, what’s the plan for your kids in the U.S. this fall?

  • Homeschooling and/or online learning
  • Hybrid: a mix of online and in person
  • Normal in person schedule

Haha Kroger? It’s Deplorable Central as far as grocery stores go.

Take a picture of yourself with a „Black Lives Matter“ T-Shirt, tweet it @realDonaldTrump and use the reaction as proof of political persecution and grounds for asylum in Germany.
Should make for interesting headlines at least.

Took my second test through CVS on July 6th. Got the results either yesterday or today.

Right on schedule.

What’s the grocery chain for non-deplorables who can’t afford to shop at a specialty grocery like Whole Foods? (Don’t say Trader Joe’s. I’m not driving two hours to shop there.)

Depends on where you live. Most grocery chains are regional.
