COVID-19: Chapter 5 - BACK TO SCHOOL

The mayor of Charlottesville is piiiiissed that the University of Virginia (relevant to me as my alma mater) is letting students come back for the fall semester.

From a local newspaper article about it: “First-year students and others living in university housing still would be allowed to live in dorms with social distancing and mask requirements.”

Yes, I remember living in the dorms and how EASY it was to social distance. Sharing a tiny room with another person and sharing a bathroom with like 40 dudes or so…no problem.

I haven’t been tested. I guess it’s free here, but not convenient. I’m giving blood today and will get an antibody test. It takes a while to get the results though.

You know who specialises in long term thinking and non risky behaviour? First year college students.

I thought antibody tests were basically junk? They don’t even offer them in Canada.

I’m getting it from the Red Cross. It’s not very accurate. I guess something like a 20% chance it’s wrong. Also, people may be afraid that people will get a result that they had it and then stop wearing masks/socially distancing.

So corporations shouldn’t be allowed to buy and rent houses is one set of rules.

Really corporations should not be allowed to exist as they are. They are a mechanism to own something and not be responsible for it.

A few weeks back my sister said it won’t grow in a lab after 9 days, and Andy Slavitt implied something similar at the 7 day mark but didn’t elaborate.

That’s it. Time to start the country over from scratch.
