13 and almost 16
Can you even feel the difference between 100 and 117?
You don’t think people can grasp that things can get worse in the winter based on what? If exploding exponential growth is our “summer pause” then we are truly fucked and I think most of us realize that to some extent.
Why the hell do people live there?
Some people hate the cold.
MAGA Habes tweeted this out dutifully
There are steps between “cold” and “surface of the sun”.
I read living there as “ loving the heat” not “ hating the cold”.
Oh yes. I like it hot and I’m pretty comfortable in the shade at 100 and even up to 105-110. But 115 and up feels different. Like the hot air entering your lungs actually feels unpleasant.
It’s a trade-off. I’d rather be hot than cold and here we get 4 difficult months in exchange for 8 great ones. We have relatives all over Michigan and it’s now traditional to send a picture every year of us mountain biking on a perfect February day while they’re shoveling snow.
Yes, its 106 today here and was 98 earlier this week. The difference is massive.
Fair points. But, Jesus, that is not for me. Shoveling snow is not that bad.
I never pass up a chance to complain about oppressive heat to my friends in Phoenix any time it’s over 80 degrees in Seattle.
Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are among the worst hit nations (per capita). It‘s doubtful that a dry heat helps.
