From people doing what I’m considering: leave a hard lockdown, get on a plane, enter a hard lockdown.
Edit: oh, you edited.

You have to be in the extreme minority of travelers. Probably less than 5% of people are in a hard lockdown at this point and of those probably none of them fly. So to answer your question it is possible there isn’t hardly any data and/or publicly available data.
My personal take is if you have to fly, then take all precautions. If it is for leisure or optional I would skip it.
The other consideration are the types of people likely to be on an airplane. They are more likely to have Covid than average.
Thanks. Not for leisure. I’m considering leaving the country for a safer school experience for my daughter. Am Canadian, so could go there instead of California.
Christmas isn’t overrated when you get one chance a year to see your whole family.
Anyway, I might be able to get around it even if I don’t have a Czech residence permit. Just gotta fly to one of the safe countries and use my Irish passport to fly from there.
That said, the school will probably ask me to take a covid-19 test before coming back to work. At least I hope they do.
It seems like to me something like that probably reduces your overall exposure by a lot. Getting out of the USA right now is probably a very smart choice.
My wife hates when I use the term Technocrat like a pejorative, but I am unrepentant. One of the numerous faults of the extensive Technocratic class is that they have a stubborn refusal to “lower” themselves to the level of mass marketing / communication.
I had a vision this morning of the virus continuing to grown over the next four months, and then (hopefully!) we get two months of a lame-duck, ship-scuttling, earth-salting, tantrum-having Trump administration.
I’ll be under my bed if anyone needs me.
Man, this makes so much sense. That’s it exactly. Hillary Clinton is the obvious example here. Like not the most extreme example ever by any means, but the most well known obvious example.

Your Canadian and still here?
Florida over 10k new cases today. Probably no one died though so it’s fine.

I think this maybe the new GOP playbook. Report the fuck out of the cases and under report the deaths so it can be called the flu all over again. I wouldn’t be surprised to start hearing the term “summer flu” pop up
Crazy. I tried to go on a couple of the official FL stats pages, and they wouldn’t load. Probably crashing as everyone tries to look at them.
Woah did the amount of tests go back to the 60k level at the end of last week?
Haven’t seen that yet. It will be interesting to see. Hopefully. If they got over 10k positives on 30k tests that would be really bad.
One continuing theme I see in my online covid wars is a complete inability to understand that science updates itself and can “change its mind.”
A common screechy refrain from the covidiots is that “FAUCI WENT ON 60 MINS AND SAID WE DONT NEED TO WEAR MASKS! WHY WOULD HE SAY THAT THEN?”
Well, because it isn’t january anymore dumbshit (i’m aware he said it in march) and we know MUCH more about how this virus spreads than we did a few months ago, and the evidence overwhelmingly points to mask wearing + distancing being extremely effective at reducing transmission rates.
It just blows their mind. They are literally unable to comprehend that you can say one thing on one day, and when new evidence comes to light, you can accept the new evidence and change your stance.
Just a common theme i notice with covidiots and trumpers in general. They lack the basic ability to understand how science works, even if they actually wanted to. It’s so ingrained into them to believe what they feel like believing and reject all other evidence to the contrary.
To me, I just can’t imagine anyone living with that in their heads. Maybe it’s my background in science and math but I seriously cannot wrap my head around it. It’s profoundly idiotic and confusing.
What kind of lens did he use?
