Rough draft of an AZ House Bill from 5/15/20:
A. A public or charter school as defined in section 15-101, Arizona Revised Statutes, a private school that provides instruction to students in any combination of kindergarten programs and grades one through twelve or any person, including a person who owns or operates a business, corporation, limited liability company, church, religious institution or nonprofit organization in this state during a state of emergency order related to the COVID-19 outbreak, is not liable to a person who contracts COVID-19 during the state of emergency, including after entering and remaining on the premises of the business, corporation, limited liability company, church, religious institution, nonprofit organization or school, if the action is based on strict liability, premises liability or negligence unless the school, person or owner or operator of the business, corporation, limited liability company, church, religious institution or nonprofit organization acted with gross negligence.
B. The burden of proof in a civil action that is based on the plaintiff contracting COVID-19 and that is filed pursuant to subsection A of this section is clear and convincing evidence.
Itâs going to take personal tragedy to change minds. And even that might not be enough.
This is really wearing on me lately.
I think it all just comes down to protecting the economy and the wealth of the 1% at all costs. I had a realization the other day watching some discovery channel type shit, two kangaroos were fighting in the wild, two alphas wanting to be the dominant alpha in the group or whatever. I realized thatâs just how they view life overall. If people die, they die. If they live, they live. But the strong deserve to have anything and everything they can take, and whatever happens to the rest happens. Itâs the way the animal kingdom mostly works, and donât have empathy for others or view us as having evolved to a point where it is justified to care for other human beings.
So information about climate change is to be used to profit from, not to protect others from.

Weâre going to see a lot of this. A combination of:

Making guidelines for reopening very basic (ie I donât think itâs a coincidence that the CDC changed their language regarding smear transmission at the same time the red states are reopening).

Passing bills that remove liability as long as reasonable/basic guidelines are followed.
TORT REFORM 2.0
Hereâs the really fun part. Iâm now trying to connect #1 and #3 - since I think theyâd like to talk to each other about this. But I donât want to tell either who the other is - out of respect for their privacy, until both give the go ahead.
So Iâm in this really weird spot of saying âHey you know one of our other friends who had this, would you like to talk to her?â.
The kicker is I know both of them will assume the other friend is #2 - since Iâm one of the few in the group who still talks to #2, and sheâs always getting into calamities. And I assume theyâll say no because they donât want to talk to #2.
So I want to say âAnd by the way itâs not #2â - because itâs not. Iâm not trying to connect anyone to #2. But #2 ALSO does have covid, which theyâll probably find out someday. So itâs sort of like Iâm lying if I say itâs not #2.

This is taxing all 9 of my social brain cells to their limit. This is like that episode of friends where Joey has to keep different secrets from everyone in the group.
Ask them to name mutual friends theyâd feel comfortable discussing it with if they also had it, if both people name each other, connect them.
Wouldnât it be like speaking any human language to a ferret?

My buddyâs mother, who is a Connecticut Trumper who wants to go on hydroxychloroquine preventatively, is outraged that someone called the cops on her hair stylist. Apparently hair salons were pushed from phase 1 to phase 2 and her hair stylist defied the order, someone ratted her out, and THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!
I am experiencing as much satisfaction from hearing of her reaction to this as just about anything has given me in the last few weeks.

But here are a few of the highlights from a poker dealer I know:
Dealer: So how is this possible. Someones wife has the coronavirus and they sleep in bed together everynight and do all activities together and the husband tested negative. Its all bullshit
(People discuss the possibility that he already had it and has antibodies. Dealer ignores this completely.)
Player: Itâs about time you realized that this is all bullshit. Now we just need more people to realize that this is the fakest thing thatâs ever happened on Earth.
(Other people discuss that he could have antibodies or natural immunity, Dealer and Player ignore it.)
Dealer 2: Itâs all bullshit and a big scam to TRY and keep Trump out of office in 2020. But itâs great itâs backfiring right in the Democrats faces

How Is everyone handling visitors/family. My mom is asking if she can come visit for a week. She is a nurse⌠She is planning on taking a a month off and would quarantine for 2-3 weeks and then come stay with us. She is super understanding if we arenât ok with it, she just really wants to see her 5month old granddaughter. I think Iâm ok with it but my wife doesnât seem thrilled about it.
