COVID-19: Chapter 4 - OPEN FOR BUSINESS

My kid’s orthodontist just opened back up. They haven’t had their braces adjusted in a loooong time. I kind of think that now is safer than a few weeks from now, and they have to get in there at some point.

Heritage, not hate!

Virus has disappeared.

We’re going to need a nickname for this upcoming weekend. Memorial Day Massacre? Three Day Pozz Party?

Just grab a screwdriver and twist until the kid says its hurting.

There, I saved you hundreds of dollars

If this is any indication of what he is like as a lawmaker, more like Rep. Kenyatta, please.

I wouldn’t sweat restaurant outdoor seating. Illinois is starting that a week later. I think Indiana is opening the slowest of all red states.

Well, I’m sure if we just pass the right legislation, then next time the landlords will adhere to THOSE laws. Probably just a few bad apples and not a systemic issue.

"Laws: They are spider webs for the rich and mighty, steel chains for the poor and weak, fishing nets in the hands of government.”

We just had to do this last week for my daughter. Back in February she got measured for the clear plastic version that you change every week, but we went under shelter in place before the first set was ready and they had not yet glued in the mounting pins.

They called last week and we decided to bring her in after talking with them about all of the precautions they were taking. (Operating at half staff, staggering rooms so that every room has a chance to air out between patients, masks and face shields, handling the billing and paperwork over the phone, etc.)

She now has the inserts for the next 12 weeks I believe, but I think she might have to go in again in a couple of months for a quick check before they will issue the next set of 12.

It’s good actually, the wind blows it away. Plus if your home is destroyed it means more time outdoors where the sun kills it!

The following states have already hit all time highs for confirmed new cases today (or will once all data is in):

Alabama
Arkansas
North Dakota
California (still quite a few counties remaining to report and within 300 of their record, they might fall just short)
Virginia

In addition to those the following states hit at least a high for the last 30 days:

Louisiana
Florida

In addition to those states the following states+dc had one of their top 7 worst days of confirmed cases today:

Oklahoma
Texas
Mississippi
Ohio
North Carolina
Iowa
Arizona
Wisconsin
Washington DC

May have missed a few skimming through the data but that is pretty alarming to me. What do those areas mostly have in common? Outside of DC/Virginia/Cali they are red or reddish states with lax lockdowns in the first place and/or early reopening.

And most of them are probably lying and it’s actually even worse than the released data.

this is fine, also opening arcades/bowling alleys, and allowing kids sports to start back up

It’s also a function of my friends being 45+. We’re not exactly in the zero danger zone.
