The thread bump reminded me to schedule mine. They had openings at the pharmacy over lunch, so I got the COVID and flu vaccines out of the way for the season.

Thatās what I did, but I was playing tennis in 2 days.
Got my COVID19 booster and flu shot this morning and this is the worst response Iāve had to it.
Last year, I got a booster and flu shot in the same trip and felt nothing. Now, Iām shivering so much Iām having trouble typing this post. I have a low-grade fever and am very fatigued. If I wake up this way, I donāt know if I will be able to get to work tomorrow.

Had flu Covid and shingles part 1 on Saturday. I was ded Sunday. Monday made it through work but had chills and some fever symptoms. Tuesday felt pretty good
Iām getting shingles part 2 in two months but doing it Friday after work. Give me two days to burn

Shingles vax wrecks a lot of people both doses.
However watching my sis-in-law have shingles, the vax is 100% worth it.

Thatās my standard response every time. Iām normally back to 80% at 24hrs and 100% at 36.
My rhuem doctor is making me get Covid flu shingles pneumonia and the tentanus booster

my wife got shingles from the first covid vax at age 34. She was able to get a shingles vax afterward because she had shingles, but still had to jump through hoops to get it since they didnāt like to give it to people under 50. She has a permanent scar on her back from the shingles, but itās not huge or anything, maybe 3 inches by half an inch.
She didnāt sleep for three days while she had shingles and couldnāt really work either because she was in such pain.
edit: I know the covid vax doesnāt directly cause shingles, but it can wreak a little havoc on the immune system and make the body more susceptible to shingles reoccuring.

Do they really not give anything for Shingles pain?
She got a cortizone cream after a couple days, but apparently you need to catch it early (first day) for whatever other medication they would give to stop it from getting worse.
She thought it was just a rash and after a day and a bit while it was getting worse I told her to see a doctor as it could be shingles. She called her doctor a day later while the pain had become much worse and he confirmed it as shingles and said a cortizone cream was all that could be done at that stage.
Shingles is a bitch! Had it several yrs ago. Felt like I couldnāt sleep a wink for a few weeks.
Try and avoid!
Cream and stuff is ok, but you might still not be sleeping.

I was thinking specifically for pain, like morphine or some shit. Maybe it doesnt do anything since it attscks the nerves?
I have my vaccine penciled in on my birthday nine years from now. The day I turn 50 im getting it.
My dad had it and said its the most painful thing that has ever happened to him. This from a guy with a compound fracture, a double ACL blowout, and multiple kidney stone passes.

I know they say like 99% of Americans are vulnerable to shingles after a certain age, but Iām pretty sure Iām in the one percent. I donāt remember ever having chickenpox as a kid, and I was sick quite a bit. That said, I could be wrong. I think thereās a test I can get to see if I am not a candidate for shingles. Definitely not getting the vaccine until I know if I need it.
If you havenāt gotten Chicken Pox yet you might want to be aware that it can be pretty bad for adults. You may want to get the Chicken Pox vaccine!
