ya, she was told that most painkillers would be ineffective.
I had my shingles shots last year. It was unpleasant enough having chicken pox in my late 20s.
I also canāt relate to all of you having such strong, systemic reactions to the flu or COVID shots. I had both last week, and I barely had any soreness in the arm. Iāve had at least 7 COVID shots, and I donāt believe Iāve ever had much of a reaction, save for one time with severe arm soreness for a few days.
Topical lidocaine patches work best ime. You can get the 4% ones over the counter
Shingles wrecked my dad and heās still on some gabopentin or something bullshita decade later that has all kinds of bad side effects. Either that or a branding iron on the face 24x7 I hear.
I had shingles in 2021. Absolutely awful. Barely slept for a week. The pain/itching got so bad, even after being prescribed medicine, that I ended up driving myself to the ER at 3am because I thought something worse was happening and I was in agony.
Tried to get the vaccine after that, at my drs orders and being immunocompromised, and nobody would give it to me because I was only 32. Get it if you can imo.
I had shingles on left side of my head in 2020 right as lockdown was happening. It sucked for sure but it wasnāt the most painful thing I have experienced. I must have been lucky. The doctor did tell me younger people seem to be getting it more often.
2 years laterā¦
The treasurer didnāt fuck up a zero. I got the records from the bridge club to show they didnāt fuck it up. So it was someone in the unemployment office was the one who added a zero.
I thought this was fucking done, but got a bill again for this shit
Called the number given AGAIN, asked did I email unemployment appeals, YES and they told me well let me check with my supervisor, Iāll call you back
Hate these fuckers so goddamn much
So fucking sorry I tried to keep my local bridge club alive during COVID, what a monumental mistake because you canāt input data
tl;dr remote IT worker with 30 years of experience at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan fired for not getting the vax. Making the rounds todayā¦
The company in 2021 did not grant an exemption from its vaccine policy, despite her insistence that it clashed with her Catholic beliefs.
On the one hand fuck Blue Cross.
On the other hand, how deeply can the attorneys explore this womanās Catholic beliefs and find countless contradictions that lead to the obvious conclusion that she simply didnāt want it. I assume most juries would be turned off by an attorney doing that to someone, but I would fucking love it.
If youāre asking whether attorneys would be able to find those countless contradictions, the answer is obviously yes. Like, if you gave a 2nd grader 5 minutes with her Facebook account, Iām sure it would be easy to point to clear hypocrisy. But itās like bedrock SCOTUS precedent that the court shall not assess whether someoneās asserted religious beliefs are actually sincere. Itās super weird.
Edit: This is a pretty readable list of cases from a California perspective:
Have fun working your way through the mental acrobatics of deciding whether veganism is a religion.
And morphine, cuz itās awesome
Being it on. Iām on Team Pandemic now.
Inject the spike protein directly into my furin cleavage site!
